Transcript
We can begin now by taking some nice,
Deep,
Comfortable breaths in through your nose and hold each one for the count of three and then just breathe the air very slowly out through your mouth.
And now again,
As you breathe in,
Imagine breathing in calmness and relaxation and as you breathe out,
Breathe away any of the tensions or any of the stress that you may be experiencing and just feel the physical body begin to relax,
Beginning to feel comfortable.
And I want you to mentally project yourself outside to a beautiful place in nature,
Your perfect place.
And it is a beautiful,
Warm,
Sunny day and you feel at peace with yourself and with the universe.
Imagine the warmth of the sun as it shines down over your body and you are here relaxing,
Allowing your mind to lazily drift and wander wherever it will.
Imagine the sounds of nature that accompany any impressions that you have,
Perhaps the sounds of the waves or maybe a rustling grass or a gently flowing stream,
Depending on wherever you are.
You can enjoy these feelings of comfort and peace,
Of tranquility and serenity as you allow yourself to comfortably rest and just quiet your mind.
You are looking up at a beautiful blue sky and it is that perfect shade of blue that you enjoy and bring into your imaginations a soft,
Fluffy,
White cloud.
And it's coming your way,
Drifting slowly down from the sky like a giant dollop of white candy floss or soft,
Warm duvet.
It's coming to you to take you on a wonderful journey,
A journey into the realms of your wonderful subconscious mind.
The cloud wraps itself around your body,
Enfolding you like an infant in its mother's arms,
Safe and secure,
Warm and comfortable,
And strangely enough,
It's such a soft,
Fluffy cloud.
And as you snuggle yourself down and relax even further,
As it carries you up,
Up into the sky.
Now feel yourself being lifted into the air on this beautiful day,
Feeling safe and secure,
Feeling content.
It's such a comfortable feeling.
Is it not?
To allow yourself to be carried away on a warm summer breeze on a day like today.
Looking down on the earth below,
As you see matchbox-sized village scattered around,
The valleys and hills and winding roads and miniature rivers or streams,
And you are lazily drifting away,
Allowing yourself to be carried away,
Feeling so safe and so comfortable and so,
So relaxed.
This cloud can carry you wherever you wish to go.
So just think of a place where you'd like to be and feel yourself heading towards that place on this perfect,
Perfect day.
And when you're ready and feel yourself there,
Feel yourself beginning to descend,
Going down deeper and deeper and deeper relaxed,
Drifting gently and lazily down to a comfortable place deep within you.
And as you settle yourself down and the clouds begin to unfold,
Observe as it detaches itself from you and floats into the air.
As you settle down deeper into this lovely,
Calm and peaceful feeling,
Just be aware of how comfortable and relaxed your body is.
It's such a wonderful feeling to be calm and relaxed.
And I wonder where in your body you feel the most relaxed.
Allow this relaxation to spread through your entire body,
From the top of your head to the tip of your toes,
Because nothing else matters right now.
There are no problems to solve.
There is nothing at all to do but relax.
If your mind begins to wander,
Some pleasant thoughts,
That's okay,
Because nobody wants anything at all right now.
Nobody needs anything.
There is absolutely nothing to do but relax and enjoy this wonderful awareness that is developing within you right now.
For in hypnosis,
Not only the body relaxes,
But the mind is free to discover and explore things about yourself that you didn't even know you knew.
Everything is recorded in your subconscious mind.
And it's interesting to note how the mind works.
Almost as though you can detach yourself and view a part of you as if you were an observer.
Yet the experience is different,
With different feelings and different thoughts.
And I wonder if you can allow yourself now to remember a time when anxiety took over.
Remember the last time you experienced it,
The last time you felt anxious.
Where were you?
What were you doing?
What did you need?
What was said,
If anything,
Or thought that triggered this response within you?
Just take your time trying to remember,
There is absolutely no rush.
Really remember every detail in this.
Get inside the memory and use it as a bridge to travel back along that bridge to the very first time you experienced unwanted anxiety.
To the very first,
Or perhaps one of the very first memories of feeling anxious and feeling preoccupied with anxiety.
Now you're on that bridge,
Traveling back through time and space to the very first time you can remember this anxiety occurred.
And I'm going to count back from 10 to 1 whilst you travel the bridge of time.
And when we arrive,
You will be back there at the very first time the problem encountered,
Or maybe around the first time.
And it doesn't really matter.
Just relax and use whatever comes to mind.
10,
9,
Going back now,
8,
Going further back,
7,
Traveling back over the bridge,
8,
Going back over the bridge of time,
6,
5,
Ahead of you now is a mist.
You're going to go through that mist,
4,
You're in the mist now and everything around you is cloudy,
3,
Really dense,
You can't see anything except for the mist,
2,
Almost there now,
1,
Now you're back in time at this anxious episode,
0.
The mist has cleared and you are remembering the very first time when this anxiety began,
Or a time that feels right for you.
Now you're back there and you can see and experience one of the first times that this unwanted anxiety occurred.
And I want you to be aware of exactly when you were experiencing that symptom.
And I wonder where in your body you experience anxious feelings.
Just try now to locate and notice where the sensation seemed to be,
Or where it was at that time.
Now I'd like you to go inside that feeling and experience what it's trying to tell you.
Notice the anxiety is trying to convey a very important message to you.
Just go right inside and listen to those messages and what they are about.
Exactly what do you need when you feel anxious?
What is that part of the body that requires the unrest trying to tell you?
And I would like you to imagine that part of you that is compelled to feel anxious and imagine it coming forward right now.
And make that an image of that part in your mind now.
See it for what it is.
And you may see an image or a color or perhaps even a person.
You may see yourself.
Whatever feels right for you.
Just mentally bring that part of you forward right now.
Taking your time,
It may just be a feeling or possibly even a word.
And I'll be quiet for a few moments to allow you the time you need to connect with this part.
Okay,
Now you're in touch with your deeper self.
Our mind and body are working in complete harmony together.
What better,
More acceptable way can you express the feelings that you are having?
What can you do to eliminate this compulsion to feel anxious?
What can you do to change your fears,
To change your obsession with health,
To change the fear and anxiety forever?
How can you make things different?
Just listen carefully to whatever thoughts or ideas your subconscious mind is trying its best to convey to you.
And you may understand exactly what you need to do or your subconscious mind may guide you in the future.
Just take your time.
And again,
I will be quiet for a few more moments to allow you the time you need to connect.
Okay,
Now just see yourself behaving,
Acting,
Feeling,
Thinking in a way that is more acceptable to you as the individual that you are.
You realize that you have choices.
You can go on this way,
Or you can go on that way.
But the most important thing in your life is that you listen to your own needs.
You are able to get in touch with your inner self.
You love and you trust yourself.
You are your own best friend.
Your subconscious mind is here to help and to guide in everything that you do.
To make permanent changes in your life.
For once and for all,
To change the way you think about your coping ability.
To understand what is lacking in your life and to find another way to achieve the needs and wants of your inner self.
To build upon your happiness,
To find out what is important to you in life and to desire that change.
From this moment onward,
If you ever experience unrest,
You will go inside that feeling and know and sense exactly what it is trying to tell you.
And you listen carefully to whatever your subconscious mind wants you to do,
And you'll do it.
You start to believe in yourself,
In your ability to achieve balance.
You can just feel more relaxed and focused because you know you can cope.
You absolutely believe you can deal with anything that comes up.
In the evening,
When watching TV,
Reading,
Or whatever you're doing,
You concentrate on the task at hand and you simply forget all about yourself.
You feel so relaxed and so content because you're feeling happier,
More relaxed.
You're thinking in a positive way.
And this is starting to make a deep and lasting change in your life.
And even though you may have had anxiety,
You are a reasonably healthy person.
Just mentally accept this now in your mind.
You are a healthy person.
And you decide what is important to you.
Your health and your well-being are at the top of your list.
And your most compelling desire to be fit and healthy,
To feel good,
To feel calm and relaxed,
This is having a compelling effect upon you.
The absolute desire to be fit and well,
The overwhelming desire to feel healthy.
And it is growing stronger and stronger.
You feel propelled forward to make permanent changes in your life.
And absolutely nothing will get in your way.
Right here,
Right now,
In relaxation,
You decide to make the changes to your life because you are in control.
You have choices in your life.
You now choose to be healthy.
You choose to feel more relaxed,
Calmer,
To think positively,
Permanently.
I would like you to use your imagination now to form an image in your mind to treat yourself now with the pleasurable vision of looking at yourself in a full-length mirror and imagining a healthier,
Confident you while looking back.
See how easily and slowly,
Smiling with the glow of accomplishment,
And just step in to that image right now.
Enjoy the feeling of living in a body that makes you feel happy,
Living in a body that makes you feel comfortable with yourself.
And that is your desire.
You choose this relaxation and peace above all else.
And you decide what you do and what you need to do to achieve this.
This is your goal.
Above all else,
This is your absolute desire to end the struggle with anxiety once and for all.
Now you are beginning to understand yourself,
And perhaps you know now what you did not know before.
And you choose to think positively.
You derive comfort from your intelligence.
You derive comfort from your family.
And above all else,
You derive comfort from yourself.
You benefit from your capacity to nurture yourself and to soothe yourself in positive,
Life-affirming ways.
And this wonderful feeling of relaxation will stay with you,
Deeply embedded in your subconscious mind.
And as the day goes,
It will grow stronger and stronger.
And you will notice these changes,
Not because I say so,
But because you want it to be so.
And I wonder how soon you will notice the difference,
Perhaps even today.
Subtle changes to enhance your life.
And nothing and no one will eradicate it.
Now in a moment,
I am going to count from one to five.
And at the count of five,
You are going to be wide awake,
Alert,
And energized for the rest of your day.
Or if you prefer,
You will be falling deep,
Deep into sleep.
One,
Allowing these feelings of health and well-being to completely sink into your subconscious mind.
Two,
Seeing yourself as a fit and healthy person each and every day.
Three,
Slowly coming back into your body.
Four,
Knowing that when you see your favorite color,
You will release any attachment to anxiety that you may have.
Five,
Feeling wide awake,
Alert,
And fully energized,
Or falling into a deep,
Deep sleep.
