Transcript

This is an exercise to work with your olfactory sense or your sense of smell.

This exercise can be performed as many times as you like throughout your day.

When performing this exercise I encourage you to get into a comfortable position whether that is seated or laying down and finding support in your spine to fully relax.

It may be helpful to close your eyes when working with this sense.

Take a deep breath in and explore your immediate environment.

Take a moment to focus on any scents or aromas that are in your space.

Is there more than one?

Can you describe the smell based on your own experience and perception?

Is it pleasant or unpleasant?

Is the scent sweet,

Floral,

Earthy or maybe something else?

Do the aromas in your environment evoke any emotions or memories?

Take a few moments now to let all the senses work together to strengthen your olfactory sense.

It may be helpful to journal or speak with someone in your environment about what you experienced.
