When the world feels heavy, this meditation is a place to come back to yourself. In this practice, you’ll ground your body, quiet external overwhelm, and reconnect with a peace that is always within reach. We’ll reflect on the belief that peace begins within and moves outward—that becoming peace is one way we contribute to a more peaceful world. You’ll also be guided through gratitude to help you notice what is still good, still steady, still yours. Affirmations are included throughout, such as: “I am at peace,” “Peace begins with me,” and “I release what I cannot control.”

So,

Before we begin today,

This isn't about pretending the world is fine.

There's grief,

There are things happening that we cannot control,

But there's always peace within reach.

That's at least my belief.

Peace begins within,

And it radiates out.

The more peaceful we become,

The more peace we bring.

And I know we can't control everything out there,

But we do have influence.

There's a quote that I really love by Albert Schweitzer.

It goes,

Example is not the main method of influence,

It is the only method of influence.

So if we want to see peace,

We begin by becoming peace.

Not perfect,

Not numb,

Just present and centered.

Let's begin.

Find a comfortable position,

If it feels safe let your eyes close or soften your gaze.

Take a slow deep breath in through your nose,

Hold it gently at the top,

And exhale long and steady.

Again inhale,

And exhale as if you're releasing noise you didn't choose.

Now breathe in again,

And breathe out,

Let your shoulders drop.

Now I just want you to notice yourself.

The place where your body meets the chair,

The bed,

The floor.

Let yourself be held.

Bring one hand to your chest if you'd like.

This isn't a performance,

It's just a reminder that you are here.

You don't have to fight the outside world in this moment,

You don't have to try to solve it right now.

Just acknowledge what's true.

There's a lot happening and your nervous system has been trying to carry it.

So we're going to do something different,

We're going to come home to ourselves.

Let your breath become your anchor.

Inhale I return,

Exhale I release.

Inhale I return,

Exhale I release.

If your mind brings images,

Headlines,

Conversations,

Fears,

Don't argue with them.

Just say softly,

Not right now,

And return to your breath.

Inhale I return,

Exhale I release.

Now I want us to consider,

Peace doesn't mean you don't care.

Peace means you're resourced enough to care with clarity.

Peace means you refuse to abandon yourself while the world is loud.

Now I want to shift your attention gently to gratitude.

Not to deny what's hard,

But to remember what's still here.

You can start small,

Think of one thing you have right now that is supporting you.

Maybe it's shelter,

Maybe it's a person,

Maybe it's this breath right here,

Or maybe it's your own strength.

Let that gratitude land in your body,

Not just in your mind.

Now think of one moment,

Recent or distant,

That reminded you light can still be beautiful.

A laugh,

A song,

A sunset,

A text that made you feel seen.

Let that memory be a soft light inside of you.

Now offer gratitude for what you do have control over.

Your choices,

Your attention,

Your values,

Your breath,

Your next step.

And if gratitude feels hard today,

That's okay,

Try this.

I am willing to notice what's still good.

That willingness counts.

Now let's move to some affirmations.

Repeat them silently or softly out loud.

I am at peace.

I am at peace.

Peace begins with me.

Peace is always within reach.

I can be informed without being consumed.

I can care deeply and still stay centered.

My nervous system deserves safety.

I release what I cannot control.

I return to what I can influence,

My breath,

My presence,

My choices.

I choose clarity over chaos.

I choose softness without surrendering my power.

I choose peace over everything that tries to steal my spirit.

I want you to bring in the quote as a commitment,

Not pressure.

Example is not the main method of influence,

It is the only method of influence.

So today,

Practice what you want to see.

Repeat after me.

I become peace.

And as I become peace,

I bring peace.

Now imagine your peace like a steady light in your chest,

Not loud,

Not performative,

Just steady.

With every inhale,

It brightens.

With every exhale,

It expands through your ribs,

Your shoulders,

Your arms,

Your hands.

Let it move beyond your body,

Into the room,

Into your home,

Into your community.

Not because you're responsible for saving the world,

But because your calm is contagious.

Repeat after me.

What is mine to do will be done in peace.

I do not have to carry everything to be a good person.

I belong to the bigger picture and I do my part with love.

Now take one final deep breath in.

Hold for a moment.

When you're ready,

You can slowly open your eyes.

Come back slowly.

But remember,

Take this peace with you.
