The Way Of Meditation - Meditation A Joyous Act
Meditation is perhaps the most powerful tool there is when it comes to calling forth the peace, love, joy, harmony, abundance, and wholeness that is inherent within each of us. As such, I have been guided to create this The way of Meditation Series. Each ”session” will begin with a brief teaching around meditation followed by a meditation sitting. I invite you to join me for a beautiful, healing, soothing and empowering moment of becoming still through meditation. Namaste Daniel

Blessings and welcome to the way of meditation.
My name is Daniel Roquillo and as always,
I'm grateful and I'm honored to have you join me for a moment of coming back to the nowness of this moment,
A moment of coming back to ourselves,
To who and what we are,
To the truth and essence of our being.
The focus point of this particular meditation session is that meditation is a joyous act.
It is nothing serious at all about meditation,
But it's a very joyful and joyous and happy and blissful act.
It doesn't mean that we're always happy when we're meditating,
It doesn't mean that we always feel like smiling when we're meditating,
But it takes the edge off of the seriousness that we humans tend to attribute to pretty much anything and everything.
And so what this means is that the act of meditation,
Or actually the practice of meditation,
We set aside formal time to meditate.
Now meditation,
As I think we've talked about before,
Meditation is not the actual sitting,
But meditation is that it are those moments when we're fully present in the nowness of this moment.
And this is so regardless of whether we are formally meditating or if we're out walking in the forest or watching a sports game or a small child or whatever the case may be.
But whenever we are fully present in the nowness of this moment,
That is what the meditation is.
But for the sake of simplicity,
We and I call these sittings meditation as well.
And so what this means is that whenever we sit to meditate,
It is important that we make ourselves comfortable.
I remember when I first began to meditate,
And this is many,
Many years ago now,
How I had this perception of meditation to be me sitting with my legs crossed in a sort of rigid position and being completely still.
Now with me,
My hips are not flexible enough to sit for a prolonged period of time cross-legged.
They begin to hurt,
They begin to ache.
It's very uncomfortable for me to sit cross-legged.
And as that is what I had heard and as that is the image I had of a person meditating,
That's what I did.
And so I tried to endure these meditation sittings,
But they more often than not ended up with me stop meditating.
I actually quit the meditation before the time that I had set aside was up because it was too uncomfortable for me.
I spent more time and energy in just seeking to maintain this position than I actually did being fully present.
And so all this to say that however you make yourself the most comfortable,
That is the best way to enter into the meditation.
Because you want to be able to put your full attention on your breath.
And so in this moment,
As always,
I invite you to put a smile on your face.
It is a joyous act.
And also that smile reminds our body or lets our bodies know that all is well.
It lets them know that they can relax and that they can begin to produce and distribute these healing chemicals.
So keep that smile on your face.
I invite you to make yourself comfortable,
Obviously,
In whatever way that takes form for you.
I invite you to close your eyes and gently tap between your eyebrows to activate that first eye,
That divine eye,
Spiritual eye,
Allowing you to catch that which cannot be caught with your human senses.
So you tap into the infinitude of existence.
And while we tap,
Let's set an intention for this sitting.
And I invite you to tag along with my intentions,
Which are for me and for us to wake up to who and what we are and for us to forever allow for greater and greater expressions of that who and what to emerge with ease and grace.
And so as we release the tapping,
I invite you to place your hands in your lap,
Palms facing upward,
Thumb and middle finger perhaps touching.
It's a sign of receptivity.
And I invite you to turn your attention toward your breath.
And always when we use the breath to sort of anchor us in the nowness of this moment,
There are a couple of things we need to be aware of.
First of all,
That the body is fully capable and able of doing the breathing.
And so what this means is that we do not need to do make the breathing happen.
We do not need to participate in the breathing.
But all we get to do and all that we need to do is to observe it,
Surrender to it as it happens.
And also we want to be aware that a full breath has four stages to it.
We've got the in-breath,
The space in between in and out-breath.
We've got the out-breath and then the space,
Slightly longer space between out-breath and in-breath.
And so we want to seek to keep our attention on that full breath of all four stages,
Which allows us to sustain our attention on our breath that much longer and that much more.
So from this relaxed state,
I invite you to take on the feeling tone that all is well and allow the peace that follows to move you deep into the silence and into the stillness and perhaps with a smile.
We lift the in-breath.
Should your attention drift away from the breath,
I invite you to lovingly,
Compassionately,
Gently turn it back to the breath and begin again.
Come back to the breath and begin again.
Come back to the breath and begin again.
Come back to the breath and begin again.
Come back to the breath and begin again.
Come back to the breath and begin again.
Come back to the breath and begin again.
Come back to the breath and begin again.
Come back to the breath and begin again.
Come back to the breath and begin again.
Come back to the breath and begin again.
Come back to the breath and begin again.
Come back to the breath and begin again.
Come back to the breath and begin again.
As I in a brief moment move us into prayer,
I invite you to remain with your eyes closed,
Open,
Available,
Receptive.
So to allow the prayer to move you into an even higher vibration.
Allow it to expand your consciousness even more.
Allow it to expand your consciousness even more.
This moment,
This magnificent moment,
This beautiful moment,
This peaceful moment.
How grateful I am to be here.
How grateful I am to share,
That I get to share this moment with you.
For your participation in the co-creation of this field that in this moment is being generated.
How grateful I am for your willingness to join me in becoming still.
Of releasing and letting go of the world.
Leaving the world for a moment and coming back to the nowness of this moment.
To the peace that is here,
That we are.
To the love that is here,
That we are.
The joy that is here,
That we are.
The homelessness that is here,
That we are.
The abundance that is here,
That we are.
Thank you,
Thank you,
Thank you.
From this space of gratitude,
I recognize and I acknowledge that God is all there is.
The Spirit is infinite,
Omnipresent,
Eternal.
Which means that there is no spot where God is not fully present in every being,
In every space,
Every place,
Every object in all of creation.
Because Spirit is both the Creator and the Creation.
So there is nothing outside of Spirit.
Spirit being infinite love,
Infinite peace,
Infinite joy,
Infinite harmony,
Infinite abundance,
Infinite wholeness.
Infinite beauty,
Abundance,
Creativity,
Bliss,
Expansion.
All of these qualities are fully present everywhere.
Which means that right where you are,
Right where I am,
All of that which God is,
Is fully present.
We are lacking in nothing,
We are missing nothing,
But we have been given everything.
Encoded on our soul,
Encoded in our consciousness.
And so right here,
Right in this moment,
Right now,
I call forth this divine peace.
I call forth this divine wholeness.
I evoke the freedom that is inherently within each and every single one of us.
Right where you are,
All is well.
Right where you are,
Something wonderful is happening because God is always happening and God is good.
Fundamentally good.
And as God and you are one,
It means that right where you are,
This fundamental good is fully present.
Because you are one with the One.
You're one with the whole.
You and God are one,
Just like the wave is one with the ocean.
Just like the sunbeam is one with the sun.
You are one with God,
Never separated,
Never set apart,
Never divided,
But always one.
So right where you are,
Everything that you need to be in peace,
You have.
Everything you need to be free,
You have.
Everything you need to be in love,
You have.
Everything you need to be whole and healthy,
You have.
I claim this for you.
I claim these for you.
I name you whole,
Healthy,
Joyous,
Loving,
Abundant,
Beautiful,
Magnificent.
I name you a blessing to this world.
I name you a gift to this world.
You are truly a Divine Light.
You're nothing but a Divine Light.
And in this moment,
As you have expanded your consciousness,
As you have raised your vibration,
That Divine Light is now illuminating the very space and the very place where you are.
And wherever you go,
That Light will shine as bright as a beacon for others to follow.
So that they too may ignite that Divine Fire within them,
That Divine Light within them.
I know all this to be true.
I know it,
I feel it,
I accept it,
I give thanks for it,
I allow it to be.
So it is,
So be it.
Amen.
