There's a lot going on in the world right now.
And you might be feeling too alone with all of it.
A lot of us are.
Let's take a few deep breaths together.
It can really help in moments like these to have some company and to simply breathe together.
Let's see what happens when we pause.
When we pause everything going on externally and internally for just a few minutes and breathe together.
You can place your hand on your heart if you want.
You can breathe however you want.
Through your nose,
Through your mouth,
Just as you normally do.
Or even a bit more deeply,
A bit more slowly.
See if you can breathe into your heart center.
Take a few gentle breaths into your heart.
If you like having your hand on your heart as you breathe,
Notice your hand resting on your chest.
Notice it naturally moving up and down as you take in more breath.
Keep going.
It's okay to keep breathing.
It's okay to keep receiving this gentle support for your heart.
Our hearts feel.
That's what they are designed to do.
That's what makes us human.
They feel what's happening in the world.
They feel what's happening to others.
They feel what's happening in our own lives now,
And in the past,
And in the future.
Isn't that amazing?
Here's this place in the center of our chest that can feel.
We can learn a lot about this.
We can understand it more.
What I want to do right now is have us care for it.
Let's care for these incredible hearts.
Because they can get overwhelmed.
They can feel too much.
They can experience really big emotions like fear,
Sadness,
And anger.
These are extremely important communications from our heart,
But they can also wear us out and cause us to feel too alone.
So,
We might need a short break from all of these experiences,
Just like we're doing right now.
We might need a moment to rest and restore our hearts.
Keep going.
It's okay to keep breathing.
It's okay to keep receiving this gentle support for your heart.
One of the most healing things we can do for our hearts is to feel more connected.
More connected to energy that feels wholesome and nourishing.
We can do that in many ways.
It's such a personal choice to focus on something that truly touches our hearts.
In our imagination right now,
We can connect to people,
To animals,
To nature,
To artistic or musical creations,
To prayers from our spiritual life.
Notice what's happening in your heart as you imagine connecting with someone or something you'd like to be close to.
Someone or something that softens your heart.
And as you do that,
You might notice more relaxation in your heart,
More calmness.
Let that happen even more if you can.
This is a kind of medicine for our hearts,
To give it access to an imaginary moment of good.
Let's breathe into that experience a little bit more.
We are restoring our hearts.
Keep going.
It's okay to keep breathing.
It's okay to keep receiving this gentle support for your heart.
When our hearts have the chance to relax like this,
It can affect us in many positive ways.
We might feel lighter inside.
We might have an increased sense of well-being.
We might feel more energized to face the challenges ahead.
This can happen when we feel more connection.
More connection from using our imagination.
More connection from listening to a recording like this one.
When we increase our connections,
We give ourselves a chance to belong,
To feel less alone with whatever is happening inside of us and outside of us.
We can grow this sense of belonging,
Especially during times of challenge.
We can have experiences like these,
Virtually and in person.
These experiences give us confidence,
They give us hope,
They give our hearts a chance to breathe.
Keep going.
It's okay to keep breathing.
It's okay to keep receiving this gentle support for your heart.
Our hearts are connectors.
They connect us with others,
With the outside world,
And they connect us to something bigger.
Something bigger than what's happening in the physical world.
They connect us to an indescribable energy within.
A kind of movement,
A kind of flow,
An inner space of change,
Of healing,
Of miracles.
Even feeling the relaxation in our hearts right now can feel like a miracle.
Keep getting to know your own heart.
Keep giving it moments to rest,
To restore,
To show you its many wonders inside.
Keep going.
It's okay to keep breathing.
It's okay to keep receiving this gentle support for your heart.
