Welcome to your meditation practice.
Today we're going to flow through a short meditation focused on digestion.
When it comes to digestion we are focusing not only on the physical digestive process but also on the energetic and mental digestion as well.
To do that we focus on relaxing the body and the mind and encouraging a sense of fluidity.
So take a moment to find yourself a comfortable seat.
Elevate the hips higher than the knees.
Allow the spine to be long.
Close down through the eyes.
Let the arms fall and the hands rest comfortably on the knees or in the lap.
If you would like to you can bring the hands into our push and pull drill to further aid digestion.
Do this with your right hand.
Press the tips of the ring finger and the little finger to the thumb.
The index and the middle fingers are left outstretched and the palm of the hand is facing upwards.
With the left hand press the tips of the middle and the ring fingers to the tip of the thumb.
The index and the pinky finger remain outstretched and the palm of the hand is facing upwards.
This mudra is the gesture of digestion.
It is used to activate our prana vayu or energy of receptivity.
Our samana vayu the energy of digestion and assimilation and a panavayu the energy of elimination.
Wherever you are be still be quiet and allow a deep sense of relaxation to enter the body.
Feel a softness come into the body via the toes.
It slowly makes its way all the way up to the crown of the head.
Take a moment to observe the body.
Notice without judgment every sensation in this moment.
Feel the softness come into the body via the toes.
It slowly makes its way all the way up to the crown of the head.
Take a moment to observe the body.
Notice without judgment every sensation in this moment.
Notice the sensation of grounding as your sit bones connect with the earth below.
Notice the breath just flowing in and out.
Notice the air flowing over your skin.
Notice the gentle beating your heart.
Notice the softness of the eyes resting close.
Notice every little sensation.
Now draw your attention to the breath as you continue to breathe softly and gently.
Notice the softness of the air flowing through your skin.
Now draw your attention to the breath as you continue to breathe softly and gently.
See if you can deepen the breath ever so slightly.
See if you can take the breath all the way from the tips of the toes to the crown of the head.
See if you can take the breath all the way from the tips of the toes to the crown of the head.
Notice the softness of the air flowing through your skin.
See if you can make the breath a little smoother.
Notice the light in sensation of flow.
Breath flows in,
Breath flows out.
Smoothly,
Softly.
Feel the breath flow.
Notice as the breath flows how that sense of fluidity washes over the entire body.
Now take this sensation of flow to the crown of the head.
Visualise a beautiful gently flowing stream of light entering the crown of the head.
Slowly,
Gently swirling down through the head.
Releasing and softening all thoughts worries things that come up in its path.
Thoughts worries things that come up in its path.
Take a beautiful full breath in.
Exhale through your mouth as you let all of those things that know you longer serve you and your mind know.
This flowing stream of light now travels down the spine into your chest.
It swirls around the heart space and again it processes and takes with it all that no longer serves you and replaces it with the purest version of you.
Take a big inhale.
Now exhale through the mouth and let it all go.
Flowing stream of light now makes its way down to your torso.
It swirls all around your digestive organs.
As it flows around it relaxes,
Softens and gives a loving sense of renewal to all of these beautiful organs you have been given.
It travels through and takes all stagnant energy and discomfort and replaces it with a flowing stream of light.
Take a beautiful big breath in as you exhale through your mouth.
Let it all go all that no longer aligns or serves.
This radiant flowing stream of light continues to travel down the body through the legs.
It makes its way out to each of your feet as it reconnects you and grounds you to the earth below.
Your body feels soft.
Your body feels light.
Your body is flowing freely and with ease.
As you take a deep breath in and as you breathe out through your mouth you let everything go.
Choose to stay here and spend a few more moments in stillness observing fluidity.
Gently gratitude for this time you have spent.
Take your time to enter back into the world.
Thank you for sharing this time.
Namaste.
