Hello and welcome back to Unleash Your Peace.

My name is Ellie Shoja.

I am your host.

I'm a positive mindset coach,

A personal transformation expert.

I am your peace trainer and a deliberate creator.

And Unleash Your Peace is such a neat little podcast.

We choose a different topic to dive into every single week.

And these topics are about the internal world.

They're meant to demystify that non-physical greater part of yourself so that we can start shedding the weight of the unwanted pain we're carrying.

We can find lasting internal peace in the moment and we can live our best lives yet.

When you live from this place of joy and love and connectedness to your higher self,

You don't just incrementally improve the quality of your life.

You actually exponentially innovate every aspect of your experiences on this physical plane.

And that is exactly my wish for you.

I want you to live your best life yet.

I want you to achieve your dreams and live the life of your dreams because I know that when you tap into that infinite potential of yourself,

You will become an uplifter in your family and your community.

And that'll trickle out into the world and that is how we level up as a society by each of us becoming an uplifter in our own communities and then helping the world become uplifted as well.

So this week's topic,

Another really big one,

We're talking about gratitude this week.

What an awesome topic.

Now gratitude is perhaps one of the most underrated tools we have in our arsenal.

If you're not prioritizing gratitude already in your life,

It's kind of hard to wrap your mind around the power of gratitude.

How can me just giving thanks every day for the things that I see and do give me more of the things that I want?

You know,

How can this little thing,

This little moment of appreciation lead to these huge advancements in achieving our dreams?

So yesterday we talked a little bit about the science of that,

How gratitude and law of attraction actually go hand in hand in creating your dreams.

Now yesterday I also issued a challenge for you.

I said that every day this week,

Try to wake up and have the first two words coming out of your mouth be thank you.

And then I said,

Couple it with a smile and really feel that feeling of thankfulness and gratitude first thing in the morning.

And then once you are in that feeling,

Get up and do your day and see how you feel.

Now today I want to talk about what happens if everything sucks.

If everything in your life is such that you literally cannot find one thing to feel thankful for.

You don't know what to focus on because everything is just horrible.

If you're living in that place I just described,

I am truly,

Truly sorry because I know that you are using the law of attraction to create more and more chaos and unhappiness in your life.

That's how this universe works.

This is a vibrational universe.

This is a magnetic universe.

This universe uses the law of attraction to organize itself.

What that means is if you are focusing on your problems and on your hassles every single day,

You are going to bring more of those problems and those hassles into your life through the law of attraction.

You're just going to keep attracting more and more of that to yourself.

Now what else this means is that your vibration is quite low because those feelings of hopelessness,

Of frustration,

Of anxiety,

Of I don't know where to go,

What to do,

Of confusion,

Those are very low vibrating frequencies.

Those are very low vibrating emotions.

So it is no wonder that you're not able to experience gratitude because gratitude is a very high vibrating emotion.

So you are nowhere within the vicinity of gratitude.

All of this is really good news for you because it means that all you need to do to experience gratitude is to raise your vibration.

Now if you can't do it by tapping into gratitude because you literally can't see anything to feel grateful for in front of you,

Let's do it in a couple of different ways.

Now one of the things you can do is meditation.

If you're not familiar with meditation already,

You might have all these different objections to meditating.

I hear these objections on a daily basis.

I cannot quiet my mind.

My mind is not made for that stuff.

I can't control my thoughts.

I don't have time for this.

When I sit down to meditate,

I fall asleep.

All of these are objections that I hear about meditation.

Now I want to give you a different way of looking at meditation.

Meditation is an exercise and focusing of the mind.

It is a gym for your brain.

The same way you go to the gym to work out your muscles and strengthen them,

You meditate in order to strengthen your mind,

To strengthen your brain.

Now how do you do that?

Your mind is designed to think.

You have so many thoughts.

You have tens of thousands of thoughts every single day and that is absolutely fine.

Your mind is designed to do that.

You needed to do that.

However,

What happens for us as humans is that we falsely believe that our thoughts are us and our thoughts start thinking us.

Our bodies start thinking us and in that reversal of control,

The mind and the thoughts have control over us.

We lose our ability to create deliberately because now we are creating reactively.

So in order to create deliberately,

We have to take our thoughts back.

We have to gain control over our thoughts and meditation allows you to do that.

So what do we do when we meditate?

You can meditate with your eyes open or you can meditate with your eyes closed.

It simply is a focusing of the mind.

So the first thing you do is you find a home base to focus on.

You can focus on your breath going in and out of your nostrils.

You can focus on the flicker of a candle.

You can focus on the hum of an air conditioner.

The reason we close our eyes frequently in meditation is to limit the number of stimuli coming into us so that we can really start observing our mind.

So whatever your home base is,

Whatever you're focusing on,

Focus on that entirely.

Set a timer.

The duration of the time doesn't matter.

It can be five minutes,

10 minutes,

Half an hour,

Whatever you feel comfortable with.

And when you're sitting in meditation,

Simply focus on that home base,

Whether it's the breath,

The flicker of the candle,

The hum of the air conditioner,

Whatever it is.

And then when your thoughts come,

As they will,

Notice when you are thinking.

Say,

Ah,

Look,

There's that thought and it hijacked me for some time,

But hey,

I'm going to let that thought go and I'm going to come back to home base.

Now the longer you sit in meditation,

The more opportunities you have to do this,

To notice that you are thinking,

To release that thought and then find your way back to home base.

So when you do this in meditation,

Five times,

10 times,

You're training your mind to not be so attached to your thoughts.

And then it's a lot easier to do it throughout your day.

When you do this also,

Your vibration rises naturally because what meditation does,

It brings you into the body,

It brings you into the present moment.

And in the present moment,

When we are not attached to our thoughts of the past or the future,

We naturally raise our vibrations.

Now the second way you can raise your vibration is by bringing yourself into the present moment,

This time not necessarily with meditation,

But by starting to notice the body and starting to notice your surroundings.

So if you are driving,

For example,

You can start becoming very,

Very present in that moment.

Make a list of the things that you are seeing right in front of you in your periphery.

Make a list of the things that you are hearing and make a list of the things that you are feeling.

Are you feeling the air conditioner?

Are you feeling the sun on your skin coming through the window?

What is it that you're feeling in that moment?

Make a list of the things that you're smelling.

So basically bring yourself into your senses and that naturally brings you into the present moment.

Now in the present moment,

When you are focusing on the present moment,

Your vibration naturally rises and you are able to tap into gratitude a lot more easily.

Now the third thing you can do to raise your vibration is by giving something to someone.

Giving and receiving at their core are the same.

Whatever you give to somebody else,

You receive simultaneously.

This is why when we do something positive for someone,

We feel good.

And when we do something negative or hurtful,

We feel shitty because we collect whatever we're giving to the other person in that moment.

So if you want to receive a higher vibration,

If you want to receive love,

Give love.

If you want to receive compassion,

Give compassion.

If you're walking down the street and you see somebody homeless,

Give them a dollar.

It's going to make you feel better.

Call a friend randomly and tell them how much you love and miss them.

Send somebody a message,

A loving message.

All of these things are going to make you feel better because you are doing something that makes somebody else feel better.

You are giving that love,

Giving that compassion,

Giving that camaraderie or friendship to yourself as well and that's going to make you feel better and it's going to raise your vibration.

And when your vibration is raised with one of these three suggestions,

For example,

You are going to find yourself a little bit closer to gratitude and you'll actually be able to see something that you didn't see before that you can feel grateful for.

And from that point,

You can latch on to that feeling of thankfulness,

Of appreciation,

Of joy in the moment and really take advantage of the benefits of gratitude.

So I will leave you with these today.

Even if you're really great at feeling gratitude and tapping into that thankfulness on your own,

I do recommend doing these three things anyways throughout the day,

Meditating every day,

Being in the present moment every day and doing kind and generous things for other people.

It is just going to add to the wellbeing of your life,

To the upliftment of your own life.

And tomorrow we will come back and talk about gratitude and creativity.

That is going to be a really fun topic for us to talk about.

And until then,

Check out Peace Unleashed on Instagram.

Those are my love notes to you.

I send those love notes into the world with the hope that they are uplifting and inspiring and grounding for you.
