Falling awake now,

Come to your senses.

What is the most subtle sound that you can detect?

Can you tune into the sound of your own breath perhaps?

And as you settle and fall awake into this moment,

It's almost as if you are sitting with your legs dangling on the edge of time.

And you are here right now on the cusp of time unfolding.

And you are just waiting with anticipation as to what is going to arise next.

What sound?

What sensation?

What thought?

And so instead of being frustrated and annoyed by our inner world and outer world,

We adopt this awe-like curiosity,

Open anticipation of what is arriving next.

And in this state,

Even discomfort and uncomfortable sensations or sounds,

Even these become of interest.

As we detach from the stories around them and we simply start to tune really carefully into the detailed pattern of these sensations or sounds or events,

How much more subtle can your awareness of this present edge of time become?

And as we rest here sitting on the edge of time,

We can use our breath today like an anchor that flows through time and space,

This continuum,

This constant breathing in and then releasing.

And if you are experiencing any difficulties in releasing something important in your life right now,

Then you can practice in the microcosm of every out-breath,

We are constantly releasing,

Even if we don't know it.

And if you notice that some form of striving has snuck in,

Like the urge to release something or the urge to breathe differently or the urge to control some aspect of your experience,

Maybe your thoughts,

Then just acknowledge,

Ah,

Striving,

Control,

And we bring deep compassion because this is our default human state.

In an uncertain world,

The need to control our experience arises very easily in an attempt to try and create safety around us.

But this also arises from a sense of fear and leads to fatigue and tension if we try to control things for too long.

So right now,

We can experiment with,

Instead,

Letting ourselves be safe.

Right now,

In this moment,

I am here with myself.

I witness my inner experience,

My inner world,

With compassion.

Right now,

I hold safety for myself,

Like a loving,

Protective parent.

Or a dear friend.

We can allow those parts of ourselves to feel safe.

And the safer we feel in our relationship with ourself,

The securer our attachment to ourself becomes.

And when we have a secure and strong attachment to ourselves,

We can face the day and the world with openness and trust and even love because we know we always have our own back.

We can create our own secure attachment through our own loving relationship with self.

How empowering is that?

So I'm going to let us just rest now.

Resting back into a spacious,

Open,

Loving awareness.

There's nothing you need to do.

There's nothing that needs to be achieved.

Everything,

Including you,

Is enough.

Exactly as you are in this moment.

Enjoy this feeling of enoughness.

And I'll let you know when it's time to come out.

What if you were to approach this day from a position of enoughness?

Or this evening,

Or this tomorrow?

How would you engage with the people in your life differently?

How would it feel to be you if there was nothing wrong with you?

If you were enough.

Exactly as you are.

If you were worthy.

Chances are you would be an even more wonderful and loving and powerful person to be around.

So why not give it a go anyway?

As they say,

You can always fake it till you make it.

We are all worthy of love.

Of good health.

Of kindness from strangers.

We are all worthy of this love.

What do you wish to do with yours today?

So as we begin to come to the end of this practice,

Just tuning in.

Bringing that mindful awareness,

Sensations,

Sounds.

Feeling fully present.

Fully alive.

And fully human.

Taking as long as you need.

To release the practice.

Thank you.

I really love this one Emily thank you ! πŸ™πŸΌπŸ©· you are one of my first teachers I listen to an insight timer well before Covid. I’m so glad to see you doing Lives now! I hope to come to one of your retreats in future. The timing on the upcoming one doesn’t fit and I will keep my eyes open. I used to live in Sydney. πŸ§‘πŸƒπŸŒΊ
