Please note that this is a general meditation and not a substitute for professional help.
If you are experiencing severe anxiety,
It is recommended to consult a healthcare professional.
Welcome to this guided meditation for overcoming extreme anxiety.
Find a quiet space where you can focus solely on yourself without any distractions.
Take a moment to settle into a comfortable position,
Allowing yourself to fully relax.
Throughout this session I offer my guidance filled with compassion and love,
Creating a safe and supportive environment for you to decompress from high levels of anxiety.
Let's begin.
Please close your eyes,
And bring your awareness to your breath.
Take a deep,
Slow breath in,
And as you exhale,
Imagine a warm,
Comforting light glowing at the centre of your being.
I am with you throughout this experience.
Visualise this light expanding gradually,
Enveloping your entire body with a sense of tranquility and ease.
As you continue to breathe,
Imagine roots growing from your body,
Securely anchoring you to the earth.
Feel yourself supported and grounded.
Embrace the understanding that it's normal to feel anxious at times.
Allow yourself to acknowledge your anxiety without judgement or self-criticism.
Offer yourself compassion,
Understanding and love.
Repeat the following affirmations silently or aloud.
I am worthy of love and acceptance just as I am.
My anxiety does not define me,
And it does not diminish my inherent value.
I embrace my emotions with kindness and compassion.
Well done,
You're doing great.
Now begin to focus your attention on your breath.
With each inhalation,
Imagine pure,
Tranquil energy entering your body,
Bringing a deep sense of calm.
As you exhale,
Visualise any tension,
Worries or anxiety leaving your body.
Imagine this energy dissolving into the air.
Allow your breath to become slower and more relaxed,
Grounding you in the present moment.
That's great.
I'd like you to envision a safe and peaceful place in your mind,
A serene sanctuary where your anxiety and stress cannot follow you.
Picture yourself in this safe haven,
Surrounded by a beautiful landscape that resonates with you.
Notice the vivid colours,
Gentle sounds and soothing sensations.
As you immerse yourself in this visualisation,
Embrace the complete peace and safety that it provides.
Allow this serene environment to evoke a profound sense of comfort and tranquility within you.
Great,
Hopefully you feel a little more grounded in this moment.
Now I would like you to acknowledge any anxious thoughts or intrusive worries that arise.
Instead of dwelling on them,
Imagine placing them in a box,
Or writing them down on a piece of paper,
Which you can do physically or mentally.
Set this box or paper aside,
Knowing that you can come back to it later if you choose.
In this moment,
Reassure yourself that you are safe and protected.
Focus on these positive affirmations that resonate with you.
This is a way of us replacing our worries.
Please repeat after me.
I trust in my ability to overcome anxiety and find peace.
I am resilient and capable of navigating life's challenges.
I deserve to experience calm and joy in my daily life.
I trust in my ability to overcome anxiety and find peace.
I am resilient and capable of navigating life's challenges.
I deserve to experience calm and joy in my daily life.
I trust in my ability to overcome anxiety and find peace.
I am resilient and capable of navigating life's challenges.
I deserve to experience calm and joy in my daily life.
That's great,
We're really beginning to prime our mind now.
Once again I'd like you to focus on your breath,
And just find yourself returning to where you're meditating.
Become aware of your surroundings and what's around you,
And take note of how much more calm you feel.
This recognition of your newfound calmness will help you realise in the future the methods that you need to take in order to calm your anxiety.
We often get caught up in thought processes that aren't helpful,
And meditation really helps us to slow those processes down.
So feel free to return to this meditation whenever you're feeling high levels of anxiety,
And I'll guide you through this process again.
You don't have to do this alone,
Reach out to the resources that will help you.
You've got this.
As we conclude this meditation,
Know that you have the strength within you to overcome your anxiety.
It doesn't mean that your anxiety will go forever,
But we can certainly find good coping mechanisms,
And that's the way that we can manage it.
Embrace the compassion and love that surrounds you.
Remember to be patient with yourself,
For healing takes time.
Gradually and slowly,
In this moment,
Open your eyes,
And once again become aware of the room around you,
And bring this sense of serenity with you as you continue your day or into your night.
Know that you can revisit this meditation whenever you need comfort and reassurance.
I believe in you.
