Welcome to the Great Transition,

Hexagram number 28,

Also known as Exceeding Greatness.

To receive this transmission,

Allow yourself the comforts of relaxing,

Brightening and calming.

Slowing the breath and moving distractions as far away from you,

From your energy body,

From your mental mind,

From your emotions as you can.

Ground down,

Connect with the earth,

Breathe into her center.

Now connect with the heavens,

The sky above,

And feel into the space between.

Placing your hands over your heart center,

Let's say to our intention,

I trust that the information I'm about to receive from the I Ching and from my wise inner self is aligned with my highest good and for the greater good of all.

Let's breathe into that,

Trusting and exhaling as we release.

Keeping the body relaxed,

The mind calm and open,

Gently notice from the place of the observer the first responses that come through.

Notice the ones that jump out at you,

Notice the messages that make you feel uncomfortable and know that this is the first part of the unfolding.

The wisdom of the I Ching will continue to work within and process in a participatory manner with your all-knowing self.

This hexagram of the Great Transition shows the lake above and wind below,

Wind below the lake.

Now wind is connected to the wood element and in the wood element the tree is the symbol.

So we can also liken the tree to the wind and of course the tree blows quite dramatically through the wind,

With the wind.

So picture that for a moment,

A tree beneath a lake,

A solitary tree with the water having risen above it.

This symbolizes solitude and this may be a necessary course of action during times of hardship,

Crisis,

When one is at a crossroads.

And this is what the message that is coming through in this hexagram talks to those times when we feel much danger or threatening.

So when we look at the lines of yin-yang,

Solid open,

The hexagram has two weak lines,

Open lines on either end,

Top and bottom,

And four solid inner lines.

And this has been said to resemble a roof where the center is strong,

The edges are weak,

And these weak edges are in danger of causing the entire roof to cave in.

So what does the roof need?

It needs stability,

Perhaps on the outer edges,

Perhaps the whole roof needs to be changed.

And to know which is applicable,

We are invited to go into solitude and contemplate in a space of being quiet,

Being alone,

And connecting with one's essence and with the divine.

Times such as these can be quite testing.

The I Ching says,

The wise man stands alone,

Has no fear,

And keeps retired from the world without regret.

Assessing a critical situation and how to go about undertaking is an important prior step,

Taking your own nature and all other circumstances into consideration.

Then take the action you consider the most appropriate and you will be successful.

The needs of the situation should decide your actions,

Not your inflexible inclinations.

When the wood element through the wind shows up,

There is oftentimes a call to look at one's inflexible points and ask of oneself,

How can I be more flexible?

What will it look like?

What do I need to do?

What inner strength do I need?

And so,

While in times of crisis there can be much pressure externally,

Also internally,

We are reminded that when the time is right,

It is indeed to act boldly and confidently.

But to know that right time takes preparation.

So give oneself the grace of that space and then trust,

Knowing that these critical passages that we all face sometime in our lives,

Assist us to grow and develop into and with our true essence.

Such times of crisis are also part of the change that humanity as a whole goes through.

And when we free ourselves from stereotype ideas,

Old conventions,

Corrupt institutions,

So we are not only supporting the self,

But the community,

The greater community at large.

Ask to be guided by your highest values and also to be shown how aptly to respond to them.

Gently and slowly bring yourself once again into present awareness.

Releasing the focus on the messages for now.

Connecting with the breath,

Feeling yourself grounding down and know that this awareness will continue to unfold.

Return to this message again for a deepened guidance.

And if you would benefit from further direction from the I Ching,

I would be most honored to guide you through your own divination with the I Ching.

So until such time that we meet again,

I wish for you grace,

Courage,

And wisdom.
