Welcome to this I Ching reading,

Receiving the Dao wisdom through hexagram number 32 entitled Persistence.

Let's prepare by relaxing the body and quietening the mind.

Focusing on the breath,

Focusing on the feet,

Feeling ourselves grounding,

Rooting and settling.

Can you relax parts of your body just a little bit more?

And anything that's been on your mind,

Can you put that to the side so that this experience can be a participatory one.

You can receive your own inner wisdom in response to this teaching.

You might like to use a visualization for that.

Seeing yourself being placed in a bubble of white light,

Or maybe golden light,

Or a color of your choice.

And letting your breath now flow in a manner that is right for you at this moment.

And let's set the intention to trust.

I trust that the information from this reading,

From the I Ching,

From the Dao,

As well as my own inner awareness,

Is aligned with and a hundred percent for my highest good,

As well as the greater good of all.

And to affirm that you can simply say,

I trust.

Now keep your body relaxed and your mind open.

Visualize a blank canvas in your mind's eye.

And notice what arrives on the blank canvas in response to the imagery,

The words,

The deeper message that talks to you.

Through this teaching.

So the yin yang lines in combination in this hexagram reflect the two elements of wind and thunder.

Wind is below thunder.

Now while thunder is understood to be the element of warning and much movement,

It is of a threatening nature when it is in the lower trigram.

Sometimes when it's in the nuclear trigrams as well.

But when it is in the upper trigram,

It is moving in the right direction.

And that is a good sign.

Wind,

Like thunder,

Reflects movement.

So there is a lot of movements in the primary trigrams.

Before we discuss this more in detail,

Let's look for a moment at the nuclear trigrams,

Which consist of heaven and the lake.

And the lake talks to joy.

It talks to serenity.

It talks to connections,

Union,

Partnerships.

Heaven talks to creativity.

It talks to activity,

Vision,

Abundance.

And so while there is this movement and this flux happening on the outside,

Inside there is harmony and happiness.

And these two together talk to wisdom.

So think about the wisdom that you have gained from past experiences.

First thoughts that come to mind allow them to arrive onto the blank canvas.

Now it is about applying this wisdom from the lessons of the past to live successfully in the present.

This is the message from this hexagram.

Thunder and wind asks us to be flexible in the face of change,

While being steadfast in your commitment to your direction.

And of course your direction is guided through your wisdom,

Through your intuition,

Through your trust.

Line 5 of the hexagram,

Which is an important line of any hexagram,

It's known as the Empress Line.

And it says in the I Ching,

In any union or partnership you should be flexible and be prepared,

If necessary,

To depart from custom or convention as a response to changing situations.

But never adapt to the point of losing touch with your true self.

So consider as well now your connections,

Your relationships,

Personal,

Professional or otherwise.

And is there a change that is being called for in any of these areas?

Focusing on the breath once more,

Settling the body and bringing the blank canvas closer to your mind's eye as we connect again with the images of thunder and wind.

What comes to mind for you as you see them,

As you feel them,

As you hear them?

Traditionally these two elements combined talk about movement,

Involvement and enduring.

All important qualities in response to change.

And the I Ching says that change is a fact in our lives and we must be responsive to it and change accordingly.

They should always remain at the heart of all our changes,

An unchanging core of meaning.

They should always remain at the heart of all our changes,

An unchanging core of meaning.

What changes are you going through at the moment?

What direction are you being drawn towards?

Can you remain steadfast and true to your inner essence,

To your wisdom?

With a slow breath in and a slow breath out,

Ask of yourself if there is a final message for you from your inner wisdom.

In response to this I Ching message.

And once you have received the guidance,

Give thanks,

Breathe it into your heart and feel it travel throughout your entire being.

Trusting that it will continue to do its work,

To process and to take action in just the way it needs to.

If you would like further I Ching guidance,

I have a course for you entitled Divination with I Ching.

And you can find that under my course tab on my profile page here on Insight Timer.

In closing,

Let us be reminded that the river carves the stone not by force but by flowing patiently.

The way of the Tao is gentle yet unyielding.
