Hello,

My name is Hillary Lafon and I'm so grateful that you've joined me today for our morning meditation,

Regret.

We've all done things in our life recently in the past,

Things that we wish we could undo.

Sometimes we're not our best selves.

And today's meditation will help us own our choices,

Feel the feelings in our body,

Accept and let go.

And in the process of all of this,

Learning a lesson and becoming the better version of our self.

So wherever you are,

Find yourself in a comfortable position.

As always,

We'll start by relaxing the body,

Breathing,

Calming the mind and listening to the heart.

So if you're able to close your eyes,

Take a few deep breaths.

Allow your body to soften even if the thing that we regret we did yesterday or last night and it's still so fresh in our mind.

Relax as well as you can.

This act of compassion of sitting with yourself and owning your choices can help you process,

Accept,

Let go and move on.

Exhaling all your breath out together.

Let's inhale for the count of 4,

2,

3,

4 and exhale for 5,

2,

3,

4,

5.

Two more times inhaling deeply,

Feeling your spine elongate,

Your chest expand,

Your stomach rise and then exhale completely,

Letting yourself deflate,

Letting something go.

One more time together,

Inhale through the nose and exhale through the nose or the mouth.

Notice any tension around your forehead,

The back of the head,

Your mouth and jaw and breathe and relax.

Your next inhale is dedicated to your throat,

Your chest and your stomach,

Allowing this area to expand,

Soften.

Visualize a warm wave washing over the back of your spine,

Massaging out any tension in the neck,

Shoulders and back.

Noticing if you're clenching your hands or your toes and allow some space in this area.

If your mind has wandered,

Come back to the breath and for a moment,

Think about the moment of your regret.

Notice where you feel it in your body.

Own it.

We all make choices but as humans,

We can take responsibility and strive to do better.

Noticing in your body,

Maybe you feel it in your throat,

Your chest,

Your stomach,

Maybe even your hands.

Take a few deep breaths,

Not trying to change the sensation,

Just noticing,

Accepting.

Now allow yourself to take ownership.

We cannot undo time but moving forward,

We can make different choices.

The hardest part is taking ownership and not blaming others,

Not blaming others for our actions.

Breathing,

Accepting.

Visualize yourself at a stream where all your worries can be washed away.

Standing there,

Allow your regret and your past choices to roll down your arms and out your fingers into the stream,

Letting that energy go so that it can become useful in another way.

Energy is never created or destroyed,

Just transferred.

So allow the regret to wash out of your spine,

Your limbs,

All your tissues in your body.

Come back to your breathing,

Owning your choices,

Feeling strong and confident.

Maybe there's a sorry that's involved that needs to happen,

Some repentance.

You are strong enough to follow through,

To make things right.

And if there is no right to be had,

To sit with your choices and to own them.

Allow yourself to take away any judgment for yourself.

Be kind and compassionate like you would a friend.

We all make mistakes.

What would you tell a friend?

Allow a clarity to wash over you and acceptance.

This meditation may not and will not fix everything or anything in your life,

But it is a step to owning one's choices and to managing regret.

Give yourself a moment of kindness to thank yourself for even attempting to face this difficult time,

Knowing that what occurred was our own choice,

Accepting it,

Knowing you can still have a great day,

You can still love and learn and help others in the planet.

Let's end our time together by exhaling all our breath out and inhale deeply through the nose and let go,

Letting it all out through the nose or the mouth.

Two more times,

Inhale through the nose,

Feeling strength to own your choices and to take care of whatever responsibility lies ahead or consequences and exhale all the fear and regret and the shame.

One more time,

Inhale through the nose and exhale through the nose or the mouth.

When you're ready,

Open your eyes,

Bring yourself back into your day.

Tell yourself,

I can handle this.

I am strong enough.

I am a great person,

Even though sometimes I don't make the best choices.

Thank you so much for joining me today.

Until next time.
