Okay,

Welcome everybody and this is a beautiful venue.

Usually at our centre in Nollamma,

There's never enough chairs,

Now you have plenty of chairs.

For those of you who want to stretch out,

I'm not lying down but you can maybe cross your leg.

It's very hard to cross your legs on those chairs but never mind.

We can do sitting down meditation on a chair because sometimes when you are travelling,

Like I have to do on aircraft,

It's very rare to be able to get a place where you can sit cross-legged.

I always thought that on aircraft if you could sit cross-legged,

You can get twice as many people in the cabin on top of each other.

But never mind that we have to sit on a chair but we can still meditate exactly the same way so we're going to do about 30 minutes of guided meditation.

So if you could all get yourselves comfortable also please turn off your mobile phones.

Haha,

Mr President.

Here we go.

Now with your mobile phones off,

The next thing to do is to turn off your mobile minds.

First of all starting with your mobile eyes by closing them.

So please put your eyelids down to close your eyes.

And first of all in meditation we pay attention to our physical body.

Even though you're sitting in a comfortable chair,

Much more comfortable than you're used to in our centre in Nalamara,

Still it's very easy for the body to become sore because we don't sit properly at the beginning.

So pay a few moments attention to how your body is sitting.

And if you find any part of your body uncomfortable,

Without opening your eyes,

See if you can adjust your body,

Move it this way or that,

Until you get the position of maximum comfort.

It's important to pay attention to your body with kindness because the combination of attention and kindness is a key attitude to develop deep meditation.

To have this kind attentiveness to what you're experiencing.

Once the body is relaxed,

We can now try and relax our mind.

By first settling the attention in the present moment,

Especially all of you who have been working hard for this conference tomorrow,

That's far,

Far in the distance.

And all the work you've done so far,

That's far,

Far in the past.

It's as if you leave all the world of busyness,

Of planning and you allow your mind to rest in the now.

Deliberately avoiding all memories of the past,

Deliberately stopping the mind running off into the future.

It's as if this is the only time you have now.

.

.

And valuing this moment as if this was the most important thing in your life,

Now.

The past or the future don't even matter,

Only now is important.

The past or the future don't even matter,

Only now is important.

The past or the future don't even matter,

Only now is important.

The past or the future don't even matter,

Only now is important.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Anytime you want to linger on something which happened even a moment ago,

Stop it and come back to the moment.

You want to think what's happening next,

Stop it and just rest in the now.

Making the present moment the only thing for you.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Once you are settled in the present moment,

Go deeper into the silence of the mind where the inner speech gets softer and softer until it stops altogether.

So you're observing this moment silently,

Not giving anything a name.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Just being silently aware in the moment.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Now if you want to focus on your breathing,

Ask yourself,

Am I breathing in or am I breathing out?

To know the experience of breath,

To know whether you're breathing in or out,

Beginning or end,

Focusing the mind on one thing,

Still in silence just now.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

Let the mind settle in the moment.

So how do you feel now,

Coming close to the end of a meditation period?

How peaceful are you?

How relaxed?

What does it feel like inside?

Please know this is the result of meditation.

This beautiful,

Open feeling,

Where the energies of the body can flow,

Where the mind feels rested,

Where the mind is at peace.

I will now ring the gong three times.

Please listen to every sound from the gong as usual.

When the last ringing from the gong fades away,

That's your signal to come out from your meditation.

Okay,

Very good.

Thank you.
