Sometimes, we arrive at a meeting or a conversation, and our bodies are in one place, but our minds are still somewhere else. Maybe, we are thinking about what happened before or worrying about what’s going to happen next. In this short breathing exercise, which I call "Reset", we bring our focus and our attention to the present moment. At the same time, we move our attention through our body to make sure we maintain an upright posture.

Sometimes you arrive at a meeting or a conversation and your body is in one place,

But your mind is somewhere else.

So maybe you are still thinking about what has happened before or wondering about what's going to happen next.

So all we have to do is to notice and to bring our focus and our attention back to the present moment.

Let's do it together.

I call this very short practice Reset.

Find a way to sit that allows you to be both relaxed and alert.

Notice your hands on your thighs.

Notice your feet on the floor.

And then bring your attention to the breath.

Let's all take three deep breaths together.

As you breathe in,

Slowly move your attention from the bottom of your spine up to the top of your skull.

Then send your breath out upwards through the top of your head.

As you do that,

Relax your shoulders while maintaining your upright posture.

And do another one.

Straighten your body as you inhale and relax your shoulders when you exhale.

Make sure you maintain your upright posture as you exhale.

Let's finish with a third deep breath.

Inhaling from the bottom of your spine up to the top of your head.

And then exhaling through the top of your head and relaxing your shoulders as you do so.

Thank you for joining me.
