Hi there,

It's Coach Jenny with Mama Needs a Refill.

Let's get grounded with the four states of presence.

You can do this anywhere and I recommend starting your day with it.

You can always end your day or throughout the day stop,

Drop and get present.

So first,

Wherever you are,

Just be.

Whether you're sitting or standing,

Feel the seat or the floor beneath you.

To be physically present is to be aware of your surroundings,

To notice your environment and to be in touch with your body.

So start by noticing your breath,

Your beautiful,

Beautiful breath.

Notice the temperature of the room and notice how your feet feel or if you're sitting,

How you feel supported.

Notice any sounds and just be in this space and I invite you to take an intentional inhale and to be physically here now.

The next state of presence is to be mentally present and believe it or not,

That means to let go and to relax and of course,

That's when your monkey mind kicks in and all the thoughts start going.

So I invite you to take any thoughts that do not serve you in this moment and to put them on a cloud.

See them on a cloud in your mind and let them float away.

When the thoughts come back,

Just put them on that cloud.

I invite you to take an intentional inhale through your nose and as you exhale with your mouth closed through your nose,

Be mentally here now.

The next state of presence is to be emotionally present.

You have already felt a number of emotions.

So whatever you're feeling,

It wants to be felt.

It wants to be seen and heard.

The cool thing is that you are not your emotions.

They are simply your teachers and your barometer.

The sooner you notice them,

The sooner you acknowledge them,

Name them,

Feel them and let them be,

They will teach you and move on.

I invite you to take an intentional inhale through your nose and as you exhale through your nose,

I invite you to be emotionally here now.

The fourth state of presence is to be spiritually present.

The beautiful thing about this is you get to define what that is for you.

Spiritual presence is connection.

Connecting to that power,

That source,

That love that is greater than you but also resides in you.

Connect to that pulsating,

Vibrating source creation that exists in front of you,

Next to you,

Above you,

Underneath you and within you.

So on your intentional inhale,

I invite you to connect to that spiritual presence and as you exhale to be here now,

Spiritually,

Mentally,

Emotionally and physically.

You can stop and drop and do this anytime.

Just feel your feet on the floor,

Your seat on whatever it's sitting on,

The earth,

A chair.

Notice your breath,

Notice your thoughts,

Notice your emotions and connect.

Have a beautiful rest of your day.

Cheers.

Very good introduction to centering and grounding meditation for teens and adults. Brief enough to encourage participation by young beginners.
