Welcome,
Welcome to a great meditation.
You've made some space for yourself today.
So I want to congratulate you on making it here.
Today we're going to be focusing on sort of pruning,
Not the most attractive word in the world,
But kind of the word that we're going to be using today.
So take a moment and get comfortable.
You can be seated or lying down for this meditation.
There's no requirements.
Feel free to grab any props.
Take a second.
Maybe you like a blanket on you,
A pillow to support your back if you're sitting,
Your hips if you're sitting,
Or your head if you're lying down.
You may also wish to perhaps get a little essential oil that you prefer or light a candle,
Something to kind of invigorate that part of your senses as well,
The smell.
And when you're ready,
Go ahead and take a minute to just relax.
Take a second,
A nice big breath in and out.
However is comfortable,
Beautiful.
Make sure that none of your limbs are crossed.
They all kind of have their own pathway.
Just take a moment to relax into that space.
You can keep your eyes open or closed at this point.
And what we're going to do is take a nice big breath in and out.
Breathe in and out.
On your next in breath,
Go ahead and breathe in through your nose and out.
It can be through your mouth.
And in and out.
In and out.
Try to keep the same pattern going.
Maybe for this as a four count.
Just see and notice.
Try to keep this rhythm.
And now that you've focused on continuing to breathe in and out,
Go ahead and take a second.
Once you get to the top of your next inhale,
Just hold.
And then exhale.
And hold.
And inhale.
And hold.
And exhale.
And hold.
Continue on this four count.
In,
Hold.
Out.
And hold.
Keep it going.
Next,
As we're focusing on producing new growth and pruning what we don't need,
As you continue this count of your breath,
Inhale,
Hold,
Exhale,
Hold.
Be sure that you're breathing into the depths of your belly.
And when you exhale,
That you're bringing your belly button towards your spine as you exhale all the excess out.
Continue that breath pattern.
Focusing on really being sure to expand the belly.
Exhale,
Releasing it all.
And even on your holds,
There's space for your holds.
There's always a pause before moving on.
We're just extending in a little bit.
As you continue this breath,
This focus,
Feel free to let these words serve you.
And if these words aren't what you're feeling today,
And just let them go in your ear and out as you continue to focus on the expansion,
The retention,
The exhalation,
And the suspension of your breath.
If you have plants,
You may have a great green thumb and your plants thrive and never want for anything.
If you're me,
Or like me,
Then perhaps the green thumb got skipped.
Or maybe you went out of town and some of your plants are not doing so well.
It can be difficult to decide.
Can I save this plant?
Or can I not?
And you choose.
Is this plant?
Is this dead foliage?
Can I prune it?
Can I water it?
Can I give it what it needs to a point where it can become a new?
Maybe it's a literal plant you're thinking of.
Or maybe it's simply an idea that you've been fostering that just doesn't seem to be fitting.
One beautiful thing is that even if a plant no longer can look the way that I want,
That you may desire it to,
Or may it have some of these other features,
It can always help provide growth to something new.
Maybe that plant that didn't quite make it is information on how you can change different habits,
Different timings.
It creates an air of understanding.
As you continue to breathe in and hold,
On your exhale,
Just begin to really focus and release that release of that idea,
This expectation that you had,
To make room for the new growth as you re-inhale.
So continue in this moment with your inhales and exhales,
Releasing whatever foliage is no longer producing growth,
And inhale what can serve you.
Your focus has wandered,
Or perhaps your breath has gotten off a count that you might have had internally.
Just return to breathing in,
Holding,
Exhaling,
Which isn't serving you anymore,
And holding before inhaling once again.
Continue this for a few more breaths.
We are starting with threeSteph,
Lein.
After you finish this last cycle,
Ending with the exhale and suspension,
Begin to let your breath just flow normally.
Let your thoughts go wherever it's gonna go.
Just take a minute to notice your breath.
Let your breath just flow normally.
Just take a minute to notice in your body and in your thoughts.
Let your breath just flow normally.
Let your breath just flow normally.
Let your breath just flow normally.
Perhaps during this meditation,
You've had some realizations of new ideas for growth.
Or maybe you've identified where some foliage is that's no longer healthy.
And before we move out of this and you go on about your day,
I hope that you can take this with you,
This experience,
This knowledge,
And that can help bring change that benefits you today.
When you're ready,
You can wiggle your fingers,
Wiggle your toes.
And whenever you're ready,
You can open your eyes,
Get up,
And I hope you have a great rest of your day.
Thank you for meditating with me today.
