Lost in your own headspace? Feeling disconnected? Technically speaking, grounding is when we create a connection between the body and the mind’s electrical frequencies and that of the Earth. But generally, when people say they feel grounded, they mean they feel stable, mindful, calm, and aware. This guided meditation helps you feel rooted and yet connected to Source! Ideally done, barefooted in the open.

This meditation will help you stay more calm,

Focused and stable.

When we call people grounded,

What are we really referring to?

We are saying this person is a very stable person.

So that's what we are doing today.

Ideally this meditation is done in the open and bare feet.

So at some point of time,

Maybe within the next couple of days,

Do use the recording of this meditation which will be available on Facebook and on YouTube.

And go and do it outdoors.

Take off your shoes,

Walk in the grass and listen to this meditation.

The power of that is something different.

But for now,

Can I please request you all to at least take off your shoes and your socks and put your feet on the ground and sit upright.

And slowly close your eyes.

Keep your eyes closed through the duration of this meditation.

It's okay if your mind wanders,

Just bring it back to the sound of my voice.

I would also suggest that you switch off all devices except the phone on which you are watching this meditation.

So don't answer any calls or anything.

Just stay with me for the next 10-15 minutes as I take you through this meditation.

So close your eyes please.

Settle down and relax.

We are going to count to the count of 4.

For every inhale,

Exhale.

And between the inhale and exhale,

We will also hold our breath to the count of 4.

So what we will do is inhale 1,

2,

3,

4.

Hold 1,

2,

3,

4.

Exhale 1,

2,

3,

4.

Hold 1,

2,

3,

4.

Alright,

So let's begin this practice.

Closing our eyes and taking one deep breath.

1,

2,

3,

4.

Holding your breath inside.

1,

2,

3,

4.

Release 1,

2,

3,

4.

Breathe in again.

1,

2,

3,

4.

And hold.

Do this on your own for the next few breaths.

Breathing in.

Holding.

And breathing out.

Holding again.

And breathing in.

In and out.

Allowing your body to relax and releasing all the tightness,

All the soreness that you've collected in the different parts of your body through your breath.

Releasing all the stress,

All the worries of the day.

With every exhale,

You're letting go of the stress.

Breathe in.

Hold.

Breathe out.

Hold.

Now feel your weight on the earth via the medium of the chair or the bend or the mat that you're sitting on.

Feel your entire body on that seat.

Notice how your body weight is distributed over all the points of contact with your seat.

See how it connects front,

Back,

Left,

Right.

And continuing to breathe slowly and calmly.

In and out.

Anytime you feel your attention is wavering,

Bring it back to your breath.

In and out.

Visualize each breath as it enters your body.

It is filling you up down to your legs through your feet.

It's flowing in from your nose and going into your feet.

Imagine your breath is creating roots in your feet.

Like the roots of a tree digging into the soil.

And your breath is going in through your feet,

Through the roots in your feet,

Into the earth.

It doesn't matter if you're in a building.

Use your mind.

Your mind is very powerful.

You can create that visual.

The visual of you taking a breath which is going down from your feet into the earth.

It's going down deeper and deeper through the topsoil,

Through the bedrock,

Through all the underground caverns and little streams of water inside the earth.

Through all the layers of the earth,

Your breath is travelling in slowly,

Slowly and slowly.

And it's pushing down and down and down into the earth.

And as your breath roots deep into the earth,

It spreads wide as well.

Like the roots of a massive tree.

It is seeking the warmth of the earth,

The warmth of the core of the earth.

Your roots have now entered the fiery hot core of the earth.

The fiery hot core of Mother Earth,

Of Mother Gaia.

And you are grounded into the earth through your breath,

Through this meditation.

See yourself as a tree that has its roots deep down into the core of the earth.

Let your roots circle that core.

Let them get warm.

Feel the channel between you and the energy of the earth opening up.

With your breath,

Send down to the earth anything that does not serve you.

Any energy that you don't want to keep within you.

Mother Gaia is so forgiving,

So welcoming.

She will take all that you don't need into the fiery cauldron of her core.

Just push it down with your breath.

The earth will transform it and send back to you what you really need.

Release all your troubles,

All your worries,

All your fears.

And in exchange,

Take back the energy of the core of the earth.

Feel the pressure of that energy against your roots and feel your roots taking that energy up from the earth.

Flowing up,

Up,

Up,

Up,

Up.

Slowly going up through your feet,

Coming into your root chakra,

All that beautiful earth energy,

The warmth of Mother Gaia,

Of Mother Earth.

Filling your root,

Moving up to your sacral chakra,

Filling it and overflowing into your solar plexus.

And as you're grounding,

As you're meditating,

As you're breathing,

This energy from the earth is flowing through you.

Up,

Up,

Up.

Resonating,

Reverberating.

It keeps filling you up more and more and more and more.

Filling your energy field with this power.

Moving up,

Filling up your heart chakra,

Your entire torso,

Your shoulders flowing through your arms,

Coming out of your fingertips.

Visualize that energy flowing from your fingertips as well.

Pulsing,

Warm,

So beautiful,

So beautiful.

Flowing up to your throat chakra,

Filling it and goes into your entire head,

Your third eye,

Shining brilliantly.

Flowing up to the top of the head where it reaches your crown chakra.

Now visualize this energy flowing out of your crown chakra like a fountain.

It just bursts through.

This energy that's coming from the soles of your feet through the earth,

Going through your entire body and exploding out of the top of your head.

Beautiful earth energy and it goes up and touches the starlight.

Such a beautiful sky.

The stars are shining and it's touching the light of the stars.

Now allow this starlight to flow into you through your crown chakra.

This beautiful light from the stars is so cool and white and radiant and it just flows into your head,

Into your face,

Into your neck.

Filling it up with light.

Your shoulders,

Your torso is dazzling with this beautiful starlight.

It flows down your arms,

Your fingertips,

It tumbles down and spills into your legs,

Your feet,

Your toes.

Filling your whole body with a radiant white light.

Now shining with this light,

Almost as if you are transparent,

Beautiful,

Shining white light.

And this continues to fill you as if you are filled with all the stars and the moons in the universe.

All of them inside you.

Now open your roots and let this starlight go into Mother Earth,

Go into the core of the Mother Earth.

Where both these energies will mingle.

The cool energy from the stars and the warm energy from Mother Gaia flowing through you.

Now with your next breath,

Breathe in the energy from the Earth and exhale the energy from the stars.

Breathe in from your feet,

Send the energy through the top of your head to the stars.

Breathe out from the top of your head,

Send the energy from your feet to the core of the Earth.

You my friend are the conduit of light.

You are the channel of light.

You are the meeting of these divine energies of Earth and sky.

The energies that is coming from the Earth,

Going up to the stars,

Coming in from the stars,

Going into the Earth.

I want you to stay in this space for a few moments as you feel this energy vibrating through you.

The Earth energy and the energy from the sky.

As you breathe in and out.

I want you to just feel that shining white light,

That warmth from the core of the Earth mingling within you.

Stay in that space for a few seconds,

Feeling it reverberate,

Feeling every cell in your body reverberating with that beautiful energy.

Your body is now buzzing with this energy.

If you feel it's buzzing too much,

You can place your hands on the ground or wherever you are sitting and release some of the excess.

Giving thanks for the abundance and offering back any extra energy that you don't need.

Just keep only that much that you need to stay stable.

Only that much that you need to stay rooted to the Earth and yet connected to the skies.

Keep only that which you need to stay fully energized,

But not manic.

As you breathe,

Feel the hum of the Earth and the sky within you.

Both the Earth and the sky have filled you with light and this light reverberates through your whole body.

You are a shiny channel of light,

Rooted and connected.

And as you feel this beautiful energy humming within you,

I want you to listen to a beautiful poem by Rainer Marie Rilke.

How surely gravity's law,

Strong as an ocean current,

Takes hold of even the smallest thing and pulls it towards the heart of the world.

Each thing,

Each stone,

Blossom or child is held in place.

Only we in our arrogance push out beyond what we belong for some empty freedom.

If we surrender to Earth's intelligence,

We could rise up rooted like trees.

Instead,

We entangle ourselves in knots of our own making and struggle,

Lonely and confused.

So like children,

We begin again to learn from things because they are in God's heart.

They have never left him.

This is what the things teach us to fall,

To patiently trust our heaviness.

Even a bird has to do that before he can fly.

Rainer Marie Rilke from Rilke's Book of Hours,

Love Poems to God.

Now slowly bring your awareness back to your surroundings.

Watching your breath once again.

Feeling the space that you are sitting in.

Wiggle your toes and your fingers.

Hear the sounds around you.

Smell the scents.

Feel the air and the earth.

And slowly open your eyes,

Allowing your environment to come back into focus.

I hope you stay rooted and connected.

And so it is.
