Hello,

This is Carrie.

And get yourself relaxed and comfortable now if you can.

You know,

You could listen to this when you're in bed or even in the car or when you have a moment where you're just struggling.

And you know what?

It's okay.

Because I am here for you.

To remind you of how wonderful and precious and special you really are.

So just listen.

Because I know that you are a special person.

You are important.

Not because of the things that you do.

Not because of what you look like.

Not because of what you have.

Just because I am.

You can say that now to yourself.

I am special.

I am a person.

I am a special person.

Good.

Because you are.

You are a special person.

There is nobody like you on this planet.

Nobody.

And that is amazing.

I know your body.

The body you have right now,

This is your body.

And it is special.

It is one of a kind.

Your body is growing and changing.

And so you want to take care of your body because it's your body.

And so you can say with me now that my body is special.

My body is unique.

I take care of my body.

I appreciate my body for what it allows me to do.

I feel good inside my body.

And you know what?

Your body talks to you.

That's right.

Your body tells you when you are hungry.

Your body tells you when you are sleepy.

Your body tells you when you feel sick.

And your body tells you when it feels alive and healthy.

You can trust your body.

Your body is your friend.

Your body tells you what you need.

And your emotions.

Your wonderful emotions.

You know sometimes we can have strong feelings and emotions.

We can feel sadness.

We can feel frustration.

We can feel anger.

We can feel fear.

We can also feel love.

We can feel joy.

We can feel calm and peaceful.

We can feel accepting.

We can feel optimistic.

We can feel hopeful.

These feelings belong to you.

You honor your feelings.

You value your feelings.

Your feelings tell you what your body needs.

Your feelings tell you what your heart needs.

Your feelings tell you what your soul needs.

So you trust your feelings.

You listen to your feelings.

You honor your feelings.

For how you feel matters.

And so you're learning to really connect to your feelings and use them in a positive way.

So when you feel angry,

Maybe sometimes you yell.

Maybe sometimes you cry.

Maybe sometimes you just need to talk to someone that loves you,

That listens to you,

And that validates your feelings.

And then you feel better.

And when you feel sad,

You might need to cry.

You might need a hug.

Or you might need to just talk to someone about those sad feelings.

And you know what?

It's okay to be sad.

Everyone gets sad.

And you know what?

When you feel scared,

Maybe scared of the dark,

Maybe scared of people or things that you don't know or understand,

You know what you need.

You need to feel protected by someone you trust and love.

You need to feel safe.

And so you are finding people around you that support you in feeling safe,

Protected,

And loved.

For when you feel love,

You feel warm and snuggly.

You feel safe and secure.

You feel special and important.

You feel calm and comforted.

And you know what?

You can love yourself.

You can love others.

And you can support others when they are sad or angry or scared.

Because you,

Sweetie,

You are learning and growing every day.

You learn by listening.

You learn by looking around and paying attention.

You learn by the things you do throughout your day.

You learn from any mistakes that you make.

You learn to listen to your emotions.

You learn every day.

That's part of life,

Is learning,

Growing,

And being the best that you can be.

And you know what?

Throughout your day,

You always make decisions.

That's right.

Sometimes you can say,

Yes,

Yes,

I want to go outside and play.

Yes,

I want to read a book.

Yes,

I want to laugh and giggle and be silly.

Yes,

I want to sing or dance.

Yes,

I want to hug.

Yes,

I want to talk.

Yes,

Yes,

Yes.

You say yes when it feels right to you.

And sometimes,

Sometimes you can decide to say no.

To say no to danger.

To say no to hugging or touching when it doesn't feel right.

To say no to strangers or things that you think could hurt you.

You decide what's best for you.

You speak your truth.

You are courageous.

You are brave.

And so it's okay to say no.

It's okay to stand up for yourself.

It's okay to believe in yourself.

What you have to say matters.

How you feel matters.

And so you can decide.

It's up to you.

This is your mind,

Your body,

Your life.

And so it's safe to say no.

It's safe to set healthy boundaries and believe in yourself.

Because you know what?

Everyone has needs.

Your parents have needs.

Your friends have needs.

Your family members or siblings,

They have needs too.

Even animals have needs.

So it's important to let people know what you need.

And it's important to ask for help when you need it.

And you can ask someone who cares about you to help you.

So that you know you're not alone.

There are people out there who do care about you.

And that are here to help you.

You just have to ask.

And so you do.

You find it easier and easier to ask for help.

To listen to your needs.

And to make sure your needs are met.

With kindness,

Compassion,

And cooperation.

Because you are unique all in yourself.

That's right.

You are special and unique.

Your body is a part of you.

Your feelings are a part of you.

Your thoughts are a part of you.

Your needs are a part of you.

And all these wonderful things that make up you is very,

Very special.

And very important.

Because you are you.

And you believe in yourself.

And so I want you to have a wonderful day.

To really enjoy life.

And make the most of it.

And so if this is your time to go to sleep,

You can do so.

Or if you just want to sit and think about these words,

That's okay too.

It was my pleasure speaking to you today.

And reminding you how special,

Beautiful,

Unique,

And wonderful you truly are.

That life is good.

And you are blessed.

And it is so.
