Greetings,
Beautiful souls,
And welcome to this open awareness meditation.
Please find a comfortable seat,
Either sitting up or laying down,
Whichever is available
to you in this moment.
Allow your body to sink into your space,
With your hands gently resting at your sides or
in your lap.
Now take a deep breath in,
Feeling the air flow into your lungs,
Holding briefly at the
top,
And release with a sigh,
Allowing all of the air to fully be released from your
lungs.
Now gently close your eyes and bring your awareness to your body.
Take a moment to make sure you are comfortable,
Perhaps a pillow under your knees for support
or a blanket for warmth.
Be sure you are comfortable in a restful posture.
Now shift your awareness to your breath.
Do not change your breath.
Notice the delicate inflow and outflow.
Notice the sensation of air as it glides across your upper lip on your inhale,
The coolness
as it travels to your lungs,
The rise and subsequent fall of your belly and chest as
you begin your exhale.
Notice your breath as it flows back out through your nostrils,
Noticing the warmth of the air.
Observe in your mind's eye the intricate balance between flora and fauna,
The seamless exchange
of carbon dioxide and oxygen,
A beautiful cycle of life,
A delicate dance that sustains
our planet in a harmonious coexistence.
Allow yourself to be lost in the awareness of this flow.
Are you breathing or is the universe breathing you?
Now shift your awareness to your body.
Note any sensations without judgment,
Only awareness of skin,
Muscle,
Bone.
Sense the heaviness of the body.
Notice the lightness of breath.
Rest here in pure awareness,
Noticing sensations and sounds without judgment.
Concentrating awareness meditation fosters a deep mind-body connection as well as a greater
sense of our place in the cosmos.
We tune in to the subtle shifts of energy flowing around us and through us,
Noticing
shifts in temperature,
Airflow,
Sensations.
Continue to rest here as you open yourself to the magic of pure awareness.
Now gently bring your awareness back to your breath.
You may begin to deepen and lengthen the breath,
Slowly becoming aware of the space around
you.
You may choose to bring small movements to your fingers and toes,
Sensing again the subtle
energies stirring there.
When you are ready,
You may open your eyes and return to your day,
Relaxed and at peace.
Return to this meditation whenever you are feeling overwhelmed,
As it has the power to
soothe your nervous system and bring a peaceful sensation to your mind.
Namaste.
