This guided pre-sleep session helps you gently release thoughts and emotions so your body can settle into a state of deep rest. Through gentle breathing, heart-centered awareness, and somatic imagery, you’ll release emotional heaviness and residual thoughts, and bring your nervous system into a calmer rhythm. As the mind quiets, your whole being can relax into inner spaciousness. About half-way through, the spoken guidance gradually recedes into soothing music, creating a seamless transition into sleep with no abrupt ending. Welcome to this gentle journey of profound release and tranquility.

My name is Lauren Archer,

And I'll be your guide.

As you begin to settle in,

Let's take a moment to acknowledge something very human.

For many of us,

When the day comes to a close and it's time to fall asleep,

Our bodies may be ready for rest and replenishment,

But the mind sometimes wanders back through the feelings of the day,

Turning them over gently and looking for understanding or closure.

These thoughts and feelings are natural,

And they're signs that you care about the people you love,

The choices you make,

And the world you're creating.

But when we carry those emotions into the night,

It can feel harder to settle,

Even when we're tired.

This session is designed to help you gently release any residual thoughts of the day and any lingering emotional heaviness,

So your mind can more easily slip into that quiet,

Fertile inner landscape where your deeper wisdom lives.

Because when the thinking mind rests and the emotional body calms,

The creative mind enters a realm of spaciousness,

And often the insights you've been seeking reveal themselves naturally,

Without effort,

In just the right timing.

So before we continue,

If it's possible,

I invite you to have a notepad or a sheet of paper and a pen beside your bed,

Because sometimes as the mind softens and settles,

An idea or reminder may rise to the surface,

And knowing you can simply jot it down allows your mind to let go even more fully,

Trusting that everything meaningful is held safely for the morning.

Take a moment to silence your electronic devices if you haven't already,

Find a comfortable position and relax.

As you follow the sound of my voice,

You can ignore any distracting sounds,

Even allowing them to help you relax more deeply.

And as you let your body find that just right spot,

You can take in some slow,

Deep breaths,

Inhaling fully and deeply,

And exhaling slowly and completely.

Let your shoulders drop,

Feel how your body is supported,

And begin letting your muscles soften,

Releasing any tightness or tension.

Let's take another long,

Slow,

Deep breath now,

Feeling your body getting even more comfortable as you let your muscles relax.

Following the breath in and out,

Noticing how good it feels to focus your attention inward now,

Inward to yourself.

And in a moment,

We're going to drift into a liminal state,

A world between worlds,

Where your subconscious mind can make the shifts and changes that allow you to let go and sleep deeply.

As I count backwards from five to one,

You may notice yourself relaxing more and more on each number,

Beginning now with the number five,

Sensing how your muscles can gently let go and release any remaining tightness or tension,

Feeling loosening,

Softening,

And relaxing.

Number four,

Feeling safe and supported as you drift deeper and deeper inside yourself.

Number three,

Gently drifting deeper inside,

Inward to a safe interior world.

Number two,

Letting go and feeling so good,

Comfortable,

And peaceful.

And number one,

Drifting all the way down deep inside,

Very deeply relaxed.

And as you settle in more deeply now,

You may get a sense that whatever you've been carrying around with you today,

The thoughts,

The responsibilities,

The emotions,

Have been resting in a soft knapsack or backpack over your shoulders.

And now,

Here,

You can let yourself slip that knapsack off and place it beside you for the night,

Feeling the relief as the weight is lifted and your whole body can relax.

And if you'd like,

You may envision a box,

A spacious,

Welcoming storage box nearby,

A safe container that can hold as much as you'd like to place inside it.

You can put everything you've been carrying into this container.

Any unfinished tasks,

Lingering thoughts,

Or emotions you've been holding so your subconscious mind can rest and relax with even greater ease.

And as you set these burdens down and with your load lightened,

You can now step softly into the inner sanctuary of yourself,

A place of comfort,

Spaciousness,

And deep replenishment where you are free to fully relax and let go.

And as you rest here,

You may notice that beneath the thoughts that circle the mind,

There is a quieter language.

Perhaps you can sense it now,

The subtle movements of emotion within the body,

Gentle stirrings in the chest,

Soft shifts in the belly,

Sensations or feelings beneath the surface.

And you are completely safe to feel whatever is here.

All emotions are welcome here.

You might notice these inner sensations as gentle waves or soft currents of feeling,

Rising and falling on their own.

Take a moment to sense the emotional currents in your body,

The way you might notice the direction of the wind,

Just observing what's here and allowing yourself to fully feel.

As you observe these pure sensations without stories,

Without labels,

You may notice how they begin to soften.

They loosen on their own.

They move the way a current moves naturally.

And now let your awareness shift toward the area around your heart.

Simply sensing the space there,

Noticing the subtle intelligence in your heart center,

Perhaps feeling the little expansions,

The tiny openings that begin to appear when you give this space your gentle attention.

Your heart is a center of intelligence.

And as you bring your awareness here and continue to breathe,

Your body naturally begins to soften around whatever you're feeling.

And as you breathe into this space,

You may sense your heart receiving the emotions of the day,

Meeting them with loving kindness and deep wisdom.

And you may feel a sense of expansion or lightness or fullness from the inside out.

As your heart naturally balances your energy and tunes your inner world,

Bringing each layer into harmony inside of you.

As this subtle shift continues,

You may notice a loosening layer by layer.

With each easy breath now,

The emotions held here are shifting.

You may imagine these feelings turning to liquid,

Flowing,

Loosening,

Becoming more fluid,

And gently draining down and out and away from your body.

Or you might sense the feelings evaporating,

Lifting like a fine mist,

Rising,

Growing lighter and thinner until they dissolve into the space around you.

And some emotions may simply disintegrate in place,

Softening into tiny particles of warmth or light,

And being gently reabsorbed by your body's own intelligence.

Alchemized into something softer,

Clearer,

More spacious inside of you.

Your body is naturally releasing and letting go.

Softening whatever is ready to drift away with each easy breath.

You may sense how good it feels as you allow the feelings to melt,

Lift,

Drain,

Or simply dissolve in their own gentle timing.

And as they do,

You can know that your subconscious mind is gently restoring balance and harmony within you,

Supporting you in the most natural,

Effortless way.

And as the emotions soften and shift,

You may also notice the thoughts connected to them are already beginning to loosen.

The stories the mind once repeated are becoming softer,

More faded.

Their edges blur.

They're dimming gently,

Like a picture losing focus.

These thoughts are like tiny strands of energy,

Like thin threads loosening.

Unraveling and dissolving into the quiet space around you.

Other thoughts may float away like dandelion seeds,

Being carried on the wind with a gentle breeze.

Or you may sense them drifting upwards,

Like delicate wisps of smoke,

Thinning,

Rising,

And disappearing into the quiet.

You may notice how easy it is to simply observe,

And how good it feels as your mind lets these softened thoughts drift and float and dissolve.

Trusting your subconscious mind is now free to rest,

Replenish,

And relax.

And you may sense a gentle ease moving through you now,

A soft understanding inside you,

That everything is naturally settling.

Your body is unwinding.

Your nervous system is relaxing.

You feel a growing sense of inner peace and calm.

And in this softer space,

You may feel a warm sense of trust growing inside you.

Trust in your body's wisdom.

Trust in your natural rhythm.

Trust in the quiet intelligence within you.

It brings everything back into balance and comfort.

And as you drift,

Your whole being is renewing itself.

Your energy is rebalancing.

Your cells are repairing and rejuvenating.

Your body and mind are settling into a natural state of harmony and ease.

You may feel how safe you are now.

How comfortable.

How fully relaxed.

And as you let go a little more,

With each breath,

Feeling gently held by this soft,

Spacious,

Quiet.

Each breath carries you deeper into comfort,

Into the quiet rhythm of rest.

And in this luminous,

Quiet space,

Your body relaxes into the natural rhythm of sleep.

Slow,

Steady,

And familiar.

Your body and mind are balanced and calm.

Your subconscious mind is supporting you,

Harmonizing your energy and supporting your well-being.

You are safe and fully at ease.

Drifting deeper now.

Deeper still.

So calm.

So peaceful.

So at ease.

As you continue to drift,

The music will carry you into a night of deep,

Nourishing sleep.
