Welcome to this guided meditation to help you find peace and tranquility and transition to a restful night of sleep.
Begin by finding your most comfortable position,
Getting everything you need in order to feel cozy and settling in.
Adjusting your clothes,
Adjusting blankets and pillows around you.
If you like,
Softly closing your eyes or maybe starting by closing them halfway.
In this guided meditation,
We will embark on a journey together to help you quiet your racing thoughts,
Draw your energy back towards you and create a peaceful space within your mind and your heart.
Let's begin by focusing on your breath.
The ever-present rhythm that grounds you in the present moment.
Take a deep breath in,
Feeling the air fill your lungs and then slowly exhaling.
Releasing with it any tension or worries.
And with each breath you take,
Imagine yourself inhaling calm and exhaling restlessness and unease.
Breathe in deeply,
Calm and exhale fully restlessness and uneasiness.
Allow your breath to find its own natural rhythm,
Effortlessly flowing in and out.
Now bring your attention to the physical sensations in your body.
Start by noticing the gentle rise and fall of your abdomen with each breath.
Feel the nourishing energy of your breath as it spreads through your body,
Bringing vitality and relaxation to every cell.
As you continue to breathe,
Imagine a soft warm light flowing through your body.
Melting away any tension or discomfort.
Picture this healing light radiating from your core and permeating every muscle,
Every organ,
Every tissue and every bone.
Feel yourself becoming more and more relaxed with each breath.
Now taking a moment to scan your body from head to toe,
Bringing mindful awareness to each part.
As I mentioned,
Each area just simply observe any sensations without judgment,
Without attachment.
Just begin by bringing your attention to your head and face.
Notice any areas of tension or tightness and gently release them with your breath.
The space between your eyebrows,
The bridge of your nose,
Your eyelids,
Your eyes sinking deeply,
Your temples,
Space around your ears and your jaw relaxing,
Your cheeks,
Nostrils,
Even your ears relaxing,
Top of your head,
Back of your head,
Moving down to the neck and shoulders,
Allowing them to soften and relax.
Slowly bringing your awareness down towards your chest,
Your upper arms,
Relaxing.
Elbows,
Forearms,
Backs of your hands,
Palms of your hand,
All ten fingers relaxing.
Your abdomen,
Navel,
Softening.
Your hips,
Low back,
Middle back,
Upper back relaxing.
Whole upper body softening and relaxing.
Tops of your thighs,
Knees,
Shins,
Ankles,
Tops of your feet,
All ten toes,
Soles of your feet,
Heels,
Ankles and calves,
Backs of your knees,
Both thighs relaxing.
Whole lower body softening and releasing.
Whole front of your body,
Back of your body,
Left side,
Right side,
Whole body relaxing,
Whole body relaxing.
Letting go of lingering stress or discomfort,
Observing your breath moving through your body.
Notice any spots that feel tight or where your energy or your breath feels blocked.
Using that mindful awareness to soften,
Let go and release.
Bringing your full focus to your breath,
Back to the rise and fall and subtle movements that you notice as you breathe.
As you breathe,
Visualize yourself lying in a vast open field surrounded by soft,
Billowy clouds.
Feel the support of the earth beneath you,
Grounding and nurturing you.
Look up at the sky above,
Painted with hues of indigo and violet,
Dotted with sparkling stars.
Allow yourself to be fully present in this serene setting,
Where time stands still and your mind finds peace.
As you gaze at the sky,
Imagine each passing thought as a fluffy cloud gently floating by.
Observe these thoughts without judgment,
Just acknowledging their presence and then letting them drift away.
If any particular thought captures your attention,
Imagine gently nudging it along,
Returning your focus to the vast expansiveness of the sky.
Open and free,
Just like you when you release the grip of your thoughts,
Allowing yourself to become one with the space and time that surrounds you.
Just notice the spaciousness of the sky,
Where worries can dissipate.
Now imagine closing the doors of your mind.
As you close these doors,
Visualize any distractions,
Worries or concerns from the day gently fading away.
See them dissolve into the distance,
Leaving you with a clear and tranquil mind.
Feel the weight of the day being lifted from your shoulders,
Freeing you to experience this moment fully,
Embracing the quiet that surrounds you,
Allowing it to envelope you in its comforting embrace.
