And good morning.
Welcome to Friday morning meditation.
We are.
.
.
My drum even went off on that one.
Good morning and are you guys ready to meditate?
Okay,
So today I decided I wanted to talk about grounding.
The root chakra and grounding and how important it is.
Why?
You ask?
Well,
Here's the thing.
When you're grounded and when your root chakra is balanced,
You are.
.
.
It helps to.
.
.
It releases the negative energy.
You don't have as much negative energy around you.
It helps you to feel balanced,
Right?
So when you know you need to be grounded,
When you feel sort of airy and sort of unfocused and not balanced,
Maybe a little less light on your feet kind of thing.
So if you lose your train of thought,
All of that kind of stuff,
If you're feeling disconnected from the world,
That's kind of a sign that you need to be grounded.
So how to ground yourself?
You ask?
Well,
Obviously meditation,
Of course I'm going to say that meditation helps,
But there's a couple other things that I've learned over the years.
You guys are.
.
.
A couple of them are kind of funny and you're going to laugh,
Right?
But okay,
My favorite way to ground myself,
To feel more connected with the earth and all the grounding and everything is to.
.
.
Are you ready?
Take my shoes off,
Go out onto my lawn or the ground,
It can be anywhere really,
And stomp my feet.
You know how you used to do when you were a little kid and you would stomp your feet because you were mad about something?
Well,
That's what you do because it helps to ground your body.
It helps get your body sort of attached right away again to the earth.
So that's how I like to do that.
That's my favorite way.
Another way to feel grounded is to take a walk in nature and you guys are,
Again,
Going to laugh at this one too,
But hug a tree.
But maybe not even just hug a tree.
So maybe we don't hug trees if you don't feel comfortable.
I've been known to hug trees,
But then again,
I'm kind of weird.
However,
So you could also just go touch a tree,
Feel its bark,
Put your hands on it and close your eyes and just feel it.
Feel the tree and feel the bark and feel the ridges in it.
That helps you to get more grounded.
Like I said before,
You could just take a walk in nature,
Just feeling the earth and just even if you have shoes on,
Just feeling the earth beneath your feet and just noticing nature,
Being present to nature.
That's a huge thing.
So what we're going to do today though,
We are going to do a meditation where we help to balance our root chakra.
The Muladhara chakra is the first chakra at the base of the spine.
It's the root chakra.
We call it the root chakra and basically the color to it is red.
So when you feel like you want to need grounding,
Let's just say you feel like,
Oh my gosh,
You know what?
I'm feeling a little funky.
Let's ground.
I would like to ground.
Start thinking of the color red.
You could start eating red foods.
You could wear red,
Wear the color red.
All of that stuff,
It may not be present in your mind all the time,
But if you wear red,
You look at it and you see it and you think,
Oh,
Red,
Right?
You know,
Oh,
My root chakra.
So I hope that makes sense.
Now what we are going to do here,
My friends,
Is we are going to do a meditation for the root chakra.
So let's get ourselves comfy.
Get your blanket or get your pillow.
Get everything ready to meditate.
As my teacher,
David G,
Says,
Comfort is queen.
And if you feel comfortable when you are meditating,
You will come back.
You will do it again.
So let's get ourselves comfy and let's take a nice,
Long,
Deep breath in.
Okay?
So breathe in through your nose and hold it and release.
It's like instant relaxation,
Right?
So let's do that again.
Take a nice,
Long,
Slow,
Deep breath in,
Filling up every cell in your body and lungs and hold it and release.
So gently allow your eyes to close and let's start to consider our root chakra.
Our root chakra is at the base of the spine.
It's called the Mooladhara chakra.
And today as we meditate,
I'd like for us to focus on the color red.
Focus on the color red.
And incidentally,
If you've been having trouble manifesting things lately,
Balancing your root chakra can actually help with that.
So consider that whenever you're,
If you're in,
If you are a manifester.
All right,
So let's start to see the color red.
And now I'd like for us to,
Our daily gratitude,
Let's think of three things that we are grateful for today.
So we can start this meditation out in such a beautiful,
Grateful way.
What are three things that you are grateful for?
Are you grateful for the long weekend?
Are you grateful for the beautiful dream that you had last night?
I dreamt about my mother last night and I'm so grateful for that.
I got to see her again.
What are you grateful for?
So I'd like us all to now imagine roots growing out from either the bottom of our feet if they're on the floor or a root chakra if you're seated cross-legged.
Imagine roots growing out from your shock from the base chakra and they're going into the ground.
They're growing into the ground deep,
Deep into mother earth.
And as the roots grow deep into the ground,
Let's imagine mother earth's energy coming up through those roots and going through every cell in your body.
Simple mother earth's energy.
Start to feel that energy going throughout your entire body.
Our mantra for today is Lam.
So as we start our meditation,
Let's say Lam over and over again while we're thinking about the color red.
If you lose focus for a few minutes,
That's absolutely fine.
Just bring yourself back to your breathing,
The color red and the mantra Lam.
I'll keep the time and let's begin.
Lam.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Lum Lum Lum Lum Start bringing our awareness back to our bodies.
Start wiggling our fingers and toes.
.
.
.
Let's take a nice deep breath in to finish this off,
Shall we?
Let's breathe in.
And breathe out.
.
And you can always,
If you feel like you need a little bit of grounding throughout the day,
Just even if you can,
If it's possible,
Just look outside,
Or maybe walk outside,
Take a quick walk outside.
That tends to ground a little bit more,
And it does something to your brain,
Right?
It does something to your brain and it helps to balance your Muladhara,
Your root chakra.
So,
I wish you all so much love.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
And I will see you Monday morning,
Bright and early,
For our Monday morning meditation.
And I know it's Memorial Day,
But I'm getting up anyway.
But,
You know,
So there you go.
I wish you all so much love.
