Let's begin our day with a little bit of happy talk and meditation in this short,
Yet impactful podcast designed to infuse a little bit of positivity into each moment of every day.
Let's get in the flow.
I have worked with,
Well I shouldn't even say worked with,
But I have studied different spiritual teachers in all facets of spirituality for really actually my whole life.
It started out when I was a kid and I studied the Bible because I was Catholic.
I was raised Catholic.
And then I studied in college.
I studied world religions.
I was just always fascinated with why certain groups of people think this,
Why some people think this,
Why some people think that.
I was always kind of fascinated with that.
And then as I got older,
I started studying Wayne Dyer and Ram Dass.
And then I got into the big ones.
I studied the Bhagavad Gita and I studied Patanjali's,
The Yoga Sutras and Lao Tzu and just all of these different things.
All of these,
The Paramahansa Yogananda,
Who I just,
You know,
You know how you gravitate to some maybe spiritual teachings or teachers or whatever.
Paramahansa Yogananda is just one of those.
Just exudes joy.
Right?
So anyway,
I studied all of these things and then I started going and seeing like Deepak Chopra and David Ji.
I mean my gosh,
Right?
And I started to recognize and actually I think I understood it years ago,
But for some reason just recently it's really been just like the point has been driven home.
The one,
Well,
One of a few things in common of all of them.
Living in the present is how you find happiness.
Right?
If you're looking for happiness in your life,
And you can look this up because it's like,
It's insanely amazing how they do this.
It's like they all got together,
But they all and they all say it differently.
Right?
But the present moment is where joy is in your heart.
That's where the joy is.
And I never,
Okay,
So I shouldn't say I didn't never realized it,
But for some reason I feel like Spirit has like impressed this upon me lately to just understand that.
They all at one point or another,
Every single person that I mentioned has talked about how the present moment is where you can find the true happiness within.
I love that.
Oh my gosh.
Right?
And then I found,
Of course I found a quote because I love just the knowledge of these teachers.
Right?
And I'm going to share with you this quote,
It's the Paramahansa Yogananda,
Of course,
I shouldn't say of course,
But one of the many quotes that I could share with you.
Right?
This is his quote on this.
It is not your passing thoughts or brilliant ideas so much as your plain everyday habits that control your life.
Give simply.
Don't get caught in the machine of the world.
It is too exacting.
By the time you get what you are seeking,
Your nerves are gone.
Your heart is damaged and your bones are aching.
Resolve to develop your spiritual powers more earnestly from now on.
Learn the art of right living.
If you have joy,
You have everything.
So learn to be glad and contented.
Have happiness now.
And you know what?
It just,
I'm so,
I'm so taken by that.
Right now,
Being present to right now.
It's in your heart.
We have it all there.
It's all there waiting for us in our heart.
And I love the idea that I have in any moment of any day,
I have the ability to reach down inside my heart,
My being,
My soul,
And just sort of pull out happiness.
Because in the present moment,
Right here,
Right now,
Life is really good,
Right?
Like we're sitting here right now.
Nothing's wrong.
Life is going by.
We're sitting here listening.
And it just,
It just blows me away that I have control of that.
You know,
None of these outside forces have the control,
Right?
Truly have the control,
Which is why I love the second agreement of the four agreements,
Right?
Which is don't take anything personally.
Right?
And I know it might sound like,
What,
What are you talking about?
Don't take anything personally.
The second agreement of the four agreements is that like,
Like if somebody spews something at you,
A coworker,
Somebody on the road that,
You know,
You know,
It's not about you,
It's them.
It's their energy.
So right there in that moment,
In that particular moment,
Life is fine for you.
It's them.
So just send it all back to them because it's about them,
Right?
I have control over my emotions in this moment.
I can be present in this moment.
Oh my gosh.
Isn't that,
That's like,
To me,
That is just the most freeing thing.
So freeing.
So we're going to meditate on this.
Yay.
All right then.
Let's get ourselves comfortable.
Whatever that looks like for you,
I know I say this every time,
But I want to make sure that everybody knows whatever feels good,
Whatever feels right for you is what's right.
So yeah.
All right then.
Let's take a nice deep breath in through your nose and out your mouth.
It's just amazing that first really deep breath in,
Obviously we're breathing constantly,
But when you take a conscious deep breath in,
It's just perfect.
So let's do that again.
Let's breathe in our nose really long and slow and release.
Absolutely perfect.
So close your eyes,
Get yourself comfortable.
Let's think about this for just a moment as we are getting ready to sit in the quiet.
What makes you happy?
What is it in your whole world that makes you happy?
Watching your children laugh and play,
Taking a bath,
Gardening.
What makes you happy?
What brings joy into your life?
So many things.
You could choose anything.
So our mantra for today,
Let's go deep into our hearts and feel this.
Today I invite in happiness.
Today I invite in happiness into my heart,
Into my soul,
Into my being.
But the mantra,
Today I invite in happiness.
I will keep the time.
If you lose the mantra or you forget,
It's absolutely okay.
You can always just go back and focus on your breath,
Center into your heart.
I will keep the time and let's begin.
Today I invite in happiness.
Today I invite in happiness.
Today I invite in happiness.
Today I invite in happiness.
Today I invite in happiness.
Today I invite in happiness.
Today I invite in happiness.
Today I invite in happiness.
Today I invite in happiness.
Beautiful.
Today I invite in happiness.
Today I invite in happiness.
Start bringing our awareness back.
Let's take a nice deep breath in,
Breathing in that amazing happiness that we've just invited into our being.
So breathe in and release.
Gorgeous.
Absolutely gorgeous.
Namaste.
