Hey this is Ish and today I want to talk to you about the concept that meditation gives you a blank slate.
Because I know anytime you meditate you feel really peaceful and it kind of empties you out of your self-concepts and your thoughts of yourself and really just makes you very calm.
And this allows you to respond to different situations rather than react right away and gives you a lot of space in your life.
And that's the beauty of the meditation practice.
But unfortunately if we don't consciously change our habits or our behaviors we could be stuck in the same kind of unwanted situations.
And ironically enough meditation can actually make you enjoy certain unhealthy things a lot better too.
Like there were a lot of Zen masters back in the day that actually were raging alcoholics but they they learned to love drinking and actually introduced a sense of mindfulness when they drank.
And this can be applied to any kind of practice or habit that you have.
And ideally the goal is to orient yourself so you can enjoy the good habits rather than enjoy the bad habits.
And I actually thought that was kind of unique right?
How meditation can help amplify whatever you're doing and actually make you enjoy or be better at whatever you're doing.
So it can make you a better runner,
It can make you a better chef,
It can make you a better salesman.
Because if you really think about the qualities that meditation brings to your life,
You're more calm,
You're more centered and they can allow you to be to jump into states of flow and focus.
And that's obviously good for almost all professions and jobs and lifestyles and activities right?
So meditation can really help in that aspect.
But if you want if meditation brings you to a state of emptiness and now you're in the state of wanting to program new beliefs that serve you,
There are a couple ways to do that.
So three things I'm going to cover here is affirmations,
Visualizations and intentions.
So for all three,
The best time to do these practices and these are very classical law of attraction practices but also used in meditation as well.
But the best times to use these are either before bed or after waking up or actually right after meditation.
This is because right after meditation your brainwaves actually change during the meditation.
So it goes from a from a state of beta waves which is very frantic and it changes to an alpha wave which is more relaxed and then also theta waves which is related to consciousness.
And actually this is another side note but in long-term meditators their brain waves actually change permanently to emanate more of the theta waves and alpha waves.
So that's something to keep in mind but and it's also why long-term meditators are able to to manifest and have good things happen just through the power of them visualizing a lot faster because the brains have,
Neurology has changed.
But going back to affirmations,
This is where you're going to be in a state of calm and you listen to tapes or sayings where they will repeat good habits and and phrases such as I'm confident and I'm smart and I do well in whatever I do and I am loved and I'm full of love and these are examples of different affirmations you listen to.
And when you're in the calm state you're actually really receptive to these messages.
And the second part is visualization which I have another talk on and that's where you're going to be viewing a desired reality something that you want happen or something that you like and bringing into the present moment and you're gonna be using all your senses in your mind's eye.
And it's a lot easier to do that if your mind is not you know spouting out you know 100 miles an hour because if you think of an ideal reality let's just say you want to teach yoga right that's just my example because I'm a yoga teacher.
If you think okay I'm gonna be a yoga teacher this is me and you can imagine yourself teaching a class and if you're not used to that then all of a sudden your thoughts will say no you can't do that you know you're not good enough.
And this is why I write for meditation where your mind is very calm that's a perfect time to actually do it because you can really take on your imagery of teaching a class and walking around and your mind doesn't chime in with the negative thoughts and negative concepts.
And the last thing is intentions and all this means is that you're going to be intending something that you like to happen or something that you basically something you'd want to happen but it's kind of like the process of going somewhere so if you want to have an ideal healthy body you would kind of intend you would set an intention of I'm on the path of becoming healthier and you kind of see that in your mind as well so those are three different actions that you can take affirmations visualizations and intentions and again the best time to do that is right after meditation.
So meditation clears your mind brings you to an empty state and with that empty space state or space you can now program good beliefs good thoughts and also good habits as well so you can imagine good habits that you want to take on and then actually do it and the best time to do it is right after meditation because there is no resistance so this is something unique that I just thought of it recently but hope this helps you thank you
