Welcome to this peaceful meditation to open your chakras.
Your chakras are energetic centers along the center of your body.
When they are free to flow without hindrance,
Life is more harmonious,
Stress melts away,
And you'll find it easier to attract and attain the true joy,
Love,
And success you desire.
Our chakras can get obstructed through our life experiences,
And they also can be bogged down by our current environment and everything we are consuming through the senses,
Including food,
What we listen to,
What our eyes are seeing,
And even the people around us.
Exploring and learning more about the chakras opens our hearts and minds to a new aspect of our subtle physiology,
And the more we can connect with what each chakra is responsible for and how it functions,
The more naturally we find ourselves drawn to things,
People,
And experiences in life that keep the chakras open and our minds and bodies free.
I recommend you lie down on your back for this meditation with your knees bent and resting together and your feet out wide.
Close your eyes and allow your body to relax.
Notice your breath and start to take it deeper and slower.
We'll be using the hands as mudras for each of the chakras.
You can begin by taking your thumbs and pointer fingers together so they form a downward-facing triangle,
And place this shape over your pelvis so that your fingers rest over your pubic bone pointing down towards your pelvic floor.
This is the home of your root chakra called Mooladhara chakra.
Slow down your breath and deepen it to expand your belly fully on each inhale and empty the lungs fully on each exhale.
Notice your heart rate begin to slow as your awareness tunes in to the rhythms of your body.
Your Mooladhara chakra is connected to your sense of safety,
Security,
And belonging in the world.
Visualize a glowing red orb centered at the base of the spine spinning and pulsing.
Silently repeat the following words to yourself.
I am safe.
I am grounded.
I am connected to the earth.
I am connected to my community and my chosen family.
Take a deep breath all the way down to the base of your spine.
As you let it go move your hands up until your thumbs rest on your belly button.
The sacral chakra or Svadhisthana chakra is centered around our reproductive organs.
It's associated with our powers of creativity and fertility.
This chakra also influences how receptive and adaptable we are to change.
The color of this chakra is orange.
Visualize a glowing orange sphere spinning and pulsing beneath your hands.
Send your breath into your reproductive organs.
Silently repeat the following words.
I am adaptable and creative.
Life force energy is flowing freely through me.
Now take your hands up so that one palm lays over the other over the solar plexus,
The thumbs resting on your sternum.
This is the place where your lower ribs meet.
Beneath your hands lies the Manipura chakra.
Manipura translates as the shining gem and is connected to your sense of feeling empowered and in control of your life.
A clear Manipura chakra enables a strong self-esteem and a clear sense of willpower knowing what you are worth and what you want.
Meditate on the image of a shining yellow sun at your solar plexus warming you and radiating light in all directions from your center.
Silently speak to yourself.
I claim my power.
I take responsibility for my life.
I am worthy of love and success.
Take a deep breath expanding your belly and sides and then let your hands slide up to your chest.
The heart chakra known as Anahata chakra is at the center of the seven chakras right in the middle of your chest.
It is associated with the depth of our relationships and ultimately related to our connection with the One,
The great source of life and love.
The more connected we are with this source,
The more loving and connected our relationships with romantic partners,
Family and friends.
The color is green which is associated with health and healing.
Take a deep breath and visualize a sparkling emerald glowing at your heart center with life and vibrancy.
Breathe slowly and deeply into this area around your heart.
Repeat silently to yourself.
I am full of love.
I am loving and I am lovable.
I am a channel of divine love.
Take a deep breath to expand all across your belly,
Chest and upper back.
Now slide your hands up to your throat.
The Vishuddha or throat chakra is associated with our ability to clearly and effectively communicate our wants,
Needs and visions and also to listen compassionately to others.
The color of this chakra is blue like the sky,
A clear space in which to speak and hear.
Repeat these words to yourself.
I am brave enough to speak my truth and I am humble enough to listen authentically.
Take a deep breath feeling the air slide through the throat into the lungs and as you let it out take your palms together in a gesture of prayer and rest your thumbs between your eyebrows.
The third eye or Anya chakra is related to our sense of intuition,
A deep knowing based on feeling and beyond the supposed facts and what we've been conditioned to believe.
Anya translates to perceive or beyond wisdom.
Our sense of intuition develops when we begin to really trust ourself and the world around us.
Balancing all of the previous chakras is vital in allowing our third eye chakra to open as well as taking a lot of time to be quiet,
To listen to messages from our body and the natural world.
This chakra is our gateway to deeper spiritual awareness and insight.
Visualize an indigo colored orb inside your brain spinning and pulsing.
Speak to your mind's eye.
I am open to messages from my highest self.
I trust my intuition.
Take a deep full long breath and chant the sound Aum as you exhale.
Now bring your hands into an upward facing triangle and let them rest just above the crown of your head.
The uppermost chakra called Sahasrara translates to thousand fold and the symbol for this chakra is a thousand petaled lotus.
All petals opening to symbolize a profound spiritual awakening.
This is the place where cosmic or source energy enters from the universe and travels down throughout your being.
Although it is always possible to receive source energy and be aware of our connection to the divine,
Most of us are distracted due to trauma and conditioning,
Stress and day-to-day life.
When this chakra is totally free and open,
We become supremely aware of and in touch with our connection to the vastness beyond our individual ego.
As we open each of the previous energy centers and live a life of balance and awareness,
We create the conditions for the lotus to blossom,
To become one with the great source of life.
Visualize a white glowing thousand petaled lotus blossoming above the crown of your head.
Now take your attention one by one to each of your lower chakras starting at the base of the spine with the glowing red root chakra,
Then the orange sacral chakra,
The yellow solar plexus chakra,
The green heart chakra,
The blue throat chakra,
The indigo third eye chakra.
As each of these chakras becomes more aligned and unobstructed,
You strengthen the roots and pave the way for the crown chakra to blossom unencumbered.
Speak these words to yourself,
I am one with the divine.
I am a channel of divine light and love.
I am free.
Now take another deep,
Deep breath all the way down to the base of your spine and on your exhale chant the sound om.
When you are ready,
Release your hands to rest anywhere on your body.
Take some deep breaths back into the lower chakras by breathing into the hips and belly.
Stay here as long as you desire and when you're ready to move,
Turn to lie on your side for a few moments before coming up to a seat.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
May you be happy,
May you be healthy,
May you be free from suffering.
Loka Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu.
Namaste.
