Hey mama,
Thank you for choosing a time that feels of service to practice together.
Now take your time to find a comfortable and supportive way to stand,
Sit,
Or lie down for this guided practice.
Feel free to use any props like blankets,
Bolsters,
Pillows,
Or blocks to support your practice today.
Let's begin!
Through this guided meditation,
We'll be rediscovering or perhaps discovering the idea of connecting.
So if not already,
Perhaps finding your eyes closed or just a soft gaze,
Whichever feels most comfortable for you today.
And however you're either sitting,
Standing,
Or lying down,
Notice which parts of your body are connecting to the ground.
And maybe you just kind of shift gently from side to side,
Whether you're standing or laying down,
Just feeling into the left and right sides of the body,
Or maybe front and back.
And see if you can find that space where it feels balanced on both sides equally.
And let's take a breath,
Breathing in through our nose,
Letting it go out through the mouth.
And audible exhale,
Let's do that again,
Breathing in through the nose.
Exhale,
Sigh,
Let it go out through the mouth.
And gently letting the lips touch back together.
Breathing just naturally.
No need to attach to what the breath is like for you in this moment.
Trust in the breath and spend a moment just connecting with the breath.
It's often something so automatic,
Thank goodness,
That we don't have to pay attention to it.
And throughout the journey of pregnancy,
Perhaps changes occur that affect the breath.
Perhaps taking a deep breath feels a bit more challenging,
Perhaps some movement that maybe before you would do didn't get you out of breath,
But now it does.
So just noting again with a sense of kindness and curiosity rather than a place of judgment.
We're just connecting with compassion to our breath,
To our bodies.
And bringing palms,
If not already,
Right on the belly to baby.
Taking this time to connect with baby.
Such a gift and a precious time to slow down and really connect.
Perhaps you can feel what's happening inside the body with baby.
Baby baby is moving.
Baby baby is in one particular spot where you can definitely feel in your body.
What a gift.
And staying with this practice of connecting with baby.
And as we just hold baby and connect with our breath,
Connect with our bodies,
Just in a sense of stillness.
Knowing that this bond already forming between you and baby is a stronger connection than so many.
How lucky and blessed this baby is to have you as their main connection,
As their home nurturing them,
Preparing them to enter this world.
And as you think of connection,
Just bringing it a little bit more outwardly.
Thinking about your connection and your baby's connection to maybe the world.
And how the world has a connection to you and your baby.
And although it might feel overwhelming,
Especially in times of uncertainty or anxiety,
Bring in that sense of compassion,
Sense of compassion for what everyone is experiencing in this world right now,
Whether known or unknown.
How can we stay connected through compassion as we introduce a new life into this world?
It might be very small acts,
Bonding with another mother,
Taking a breath before you react when you haven't had maybe much sleep and baby is crying or having a rough day.
Celebrate the small acts of compassion.
Compassion is contagious.
Connect to others with that sense of compassion.
Most importantly,
Beginning with yourself.
Connecting with compassion,
With love.
May we connect with compassion.
Just placing the palms back on the belly if not still there.
And say that to yourself.
Maybe saying it aloud to baby.
May we find connection with compassion.
Bringing one hand to the earth and the other hand staying with baby.
Connecting to a sense of groundedness,
Even in times of uncertainty or newness throughout this journey or whatever else is going on in the world.
May we hold each other with compassion.
May we touch with compassion,
Reach out with compassion.
Connect with compassion.
Take another breath in through your nose.
Letting it go out through your mouth.
Bringing both hands to heart center.
And from my heart to yours.
Thank you for practicing with me.
