Hi my name is Lisa and welcome to your meditation manifesting calm with the element of water.
I am an ocean lover and I am descended from children of islands and ocean lovers and I too grew up in an island and am still living very close to the ocean which is a privilege.
My mother had a near drowning experience that left her with a phobia.
Around a decade ago,
We found a pool that was way steep across,
No dips,
No plunges,
And I offered her the experience to just simply walk across one foot in front of the other,
Breathing.
And the experience wasn't just healthy and cathartic for her and I,
But a woman nearby who was watching us felt the presence of her late mother who had just recently passed who also had a phobia of the water.
And the experience bonded all three of us to speak about grief,
To speak about fear.
That's the power of water.
It does have the power to take,
But it also has the power to give.
It has the power to destroy,
But it also has the power to heal.
Land emerges from water,
Sky cycles the energy of water with rain.
We are of water.
And though yes,
Healthy respect is always needed for this powerful element,
We also can allow it to heal us,
To nurture us.
So with that,
Come into your comfortable seated position,
Whatever that is for you today,
Whether it be lying down,
Sitting,
Standing,
Driving,
Whatever it is.
If it calls to you to close the eyes,
Go ahead and feel free to do so.
Take a moment to just be here in this position and recognize how you feel.
When we first enter the water,
We immediately recognize how we feel.
Is the water too cold,
Too warm?
Am I scared?
Am I excited?
Do I want to jump in?
Do I want to take my time?
Use this moment as if you're jumping or walking into your meditation to just recognize how you feel and take a nice big deep inhale into the body and exhale,
Sigh out,
Let go.
Send the breath down to the belly as if you're sending it down to the ocean floor.
Now allow your belly to really release any tension.
Let your diaphragm completely let go so that your lungs have all the space in the world to breathe freely.
And with every inhale and with every exhale,
The chest and belly,
The ribs,
The back expands.
With every inhale,
With every exhale,
It is like a wave lapping up on the shore.
Let's go ahead and play with the breath a little bit more.
Inhaling into the belly,
Feeling the belly expand,
The chest expand,
The shoulders and back expand.
Breathe in,
Hold for three,
Two,
One.
Exhale,
Sigh out,
Let it go.
Breathe naturally.
Know that you are safe.
Let's do that two more times.
Inhaling into the belly,
Feeling the belly expand,
The chest expand,
The collarbone.
Inhale,
Hold for three,
Two,
One.
Exhale,
Sigh out,
Let go.
Last time.
Inhale into the belly,
Into the breath,
Breathing in,
Holding for three,
Two,
One.
Exhale,
Let go.
Breathe naturally.
Allow yourself to visualize you near or floating on the surface of water.
Floating,
Easily.
Floating without any effort whatsoever.
It's as easy as breathing.
You are as light as a feather.
You begin to let go of any emotions,
Anything that does not serve you,
Any grief,
Any sadness,
Any worry or doubt.
As you release control,
As you allow yourself to simply float,
Being held,
Releasing all that does not serve you.
Let the water clean the slate.
As you let go,
You release tension in the feet,
The toes,
The ankles.
You can release tension from ankles to knees,
Knees to hips,
Pelvis to navel,
Navel to heart space.
And you can let go of the rest of the world and just focus on the breath and the beating of your heart.
From shoulders to elbows and elbows to fingertips,
Neck,
Jaw,
Crown of the head.
Let go.
Focus on the beating of your heart and the breath of waves allowing you to release.
And from this place,
I invite you to have a moment of free flow where you can heal,
Imagine,
Dream,
Or simply be here in this meditation.
Allow the mind to expand and wonder or simply allow yourself to come inward.
From this place,
Wherever you are,
Set an intention for yourself that allows you to wash away all that does not serve you.
And as you begin to integrate the world of your meditation with this world around you,
Remember that you are like the water,
You are connected to almost everything and everyone around you.
You are ever-evolving and within your body holds a history.
You are a force,
You are powerful,
And yet,
You are absolutely healing.
Begin to release your meditation,
Maybe gently float the eyes open if they were closed.
And I thank you so much for meditating with me today.
So many blessings.
Namaste.
