You are listening to the Motherhood Unstressed podcast and I'm your host Liz Carlile.
Thank you so much for taking the time for yourself today and making yourself sit and be quiet and tune in.
I always say this but it's so true.
Most people won't do this for themselves.
They think it's a waste of time or they're too busy.
But when we slow down,
Focus on our breathing and connect back to ourselves,
It opens up so much more time,
So much more creativity and helps us prioritize what really matters.
So thank you for joining me.
So as we settle in,
You can do this meditation in any position you choose,
Whether you're seated with your hands gently resting on your knees or lying on a couch or your bed or even a yoga mat.
The point is to be relaxed but also alert.
So settling in now,
Bring your attention to your breath.
Notice if your breathing is more shallow today or if you've just woken up,
If you're more centered and calm.
Take notice and as you notice,
Try to deepen your breathing ever so slightly so that it moves from your chest down into your belly.
And make your exhales just a tad longer than your inhales.
Now let's do some box breathing together.
Let's take a deep breath in,
Hold,
Release for longer,
Hold.
Deep breath in,
Hold,
Release,
Hold.
Deep breath in,
Hold,
Release,
Hold.
Now just return to a gentle rhythmic breathing,
Noticing where you feel tightness in your body,
Noticing what thoughts are already crashing to your attention.
Usually it's a to-do list,
Something to do with work.
Notice the thoughts thin like a passing cloud in the sky.
Let the thought go,
Knowing that you will have all of the energy,
All of the intelligence,
All of the fortitude to handle your to-do list,
Your work to-do list when the time is right.
Right now,
All you have to do is breathe and sink in deeper to yourself and your own inner knowing.
Starting now from the top of your head like an egg was cracked,
Dripping down your awareness,
Down your forehead,
Past your eyebrows,
Down your nose,
Down your lips,
Dripping down your throat,
Clearing away any blocks from your throat chakra.
If you feel like you haven't been able to stand up for yourself or speak your truth at work or in your life,
Clear that debris away right now.
Envision a blue diamond in your throat that you have just made incredibly shiny and clear.
Dripping down now to your heart space,
The diamond there is green,
Shine that one away,
Clearing any crust or blocks that you've put there to protect your heart from others.
Clear it away.
Dripping down further to your solar plexus which is yellow,
Shine that diamond the brightest yellow you can imagine.
That is your confidence,
That is your courage,
That is your power.
Gather down now into your pelvis,
It's orange,
This is your creativity,
Your strength,
Your ability to bring life into the world,
Ideas,
Motion from an idea,
Clear that diamond away,
Shine it.
Dripping down lower into your root chakra which is red,
Clear that diamond.
This is your attachment,
Your connection to the earth,
To who you are,
Stability,
No fear,
Strength,
Shine that diamond.
And root down now into the earth with your legs,
Down your quads,
Past your knees,
Down your shins,
Your ankles,
To the tops of your feet,
To the tips of your toes.
Taking your attention from the bottom now,
Taking it all the way back up into a cycle.
And when you reach your eyes,
That diamond is purple,
That's your third eye,
Clear that away.
And you will notice that you are able to predict certain things in work and in life,
That you are able to connect with loved ones just by thinking of them.
And if you go even higher to the top of your scalp around your body,
You'll see a white light.
That is your highest self.
Imagine shining that,
Clearing debris so that you can be the most effective in your purpose here.
And as you continue to breathe,
I'll leave you for the next minute or so,
You can go in a cycle from top to bottom,
Shining your different chakras as you go,
Or you can simply connect to your breath and settle in to your divine body.
I'll mark the time and I'll let you know when it's time to come out and rejoin the world.
Good luck!
Take a deep breath in.
Hold and let it all go.
Come back into your body.
You can roll your neck.
Use some gentle shoulder rolls,
Some wrist rolls if you have time,
Some gentle yoga stretches just to fully embody your body and start your day from a place of groundedness and calm.
Thank you so much again for taking the time for yourself to connect back to your true essence which is always with you but sometimes we get distracted.
I hope you have a wonderful,
Wonderful day and if this meditation spoke to you,
