Hello and welcome to Day 2 of Living From Love.
My name's Liz Scott.
You have joined me on an experiment,
A 30-day experiment,
Where I am seeing what it is like to live from a place of love rather than fear.
Every day I write up my reflections in a diary and then I share whatever wisdom or learning I have seen for the day.
You are invited to join me on this experiment,
Living From Love Rather Than Fear.
And just two reminders from yesterday.
One is that when we talk of love,
We're talking of love as an umbrella term.
It kind of includes things like joy,
Gratitude,
Peace of mind,
Compassion.
And when we talk about fear,
Again,
We're using that as an umbrella term.
An umbrella term for any unsettled thoughts.
It could be guilt,
Anxiety,
Lack of confidence,
Stress.
So the first thing is just to remember what we mean when we mean love and fear.
And secondly,
We're not talking about banishing fearful thoughts.
On the contrary,
This is a practice in bringing our awareness back to the ever-present space of love that is within us.
So the experiment is an awareness experiment.
We notice when we're in fearful thoughts and then we bring our awareness back to love.
Day two has been really interesting for me.
And don't forget,
Please let me know how you're getting on with this experiment.
Day two has been interesting because I have been distracted.
I've been distracted away from reminding myself to live from love rather than fear.
It's like a little mantra,
Isn't it?
Live from love rather than fear.
And the thing that I've seen on day two is that even though I am only on my second day in the experiment,
I keep forgetting that I'm doing the experiment.
But this has actually been really useful because what I've noticed when I wrote up my journal at the end of the day is that even though I was distracted and even though I kept forgetting to live from love rather than fear,
What I noticed is that love seemed to turn up anyway.
I met a friend for a walk and we had this glorious walk.
It was quite warm when we were walking.
We walked beside a river and it was one of those walks where we were exchanging turns to listen and then to share.
And she's a great listener and I'm a good listener and it was this incredible sense of connection that we felt as we were walking.
It was warm and the river was beside us and it looked so tempting.
So at one point we took off our shoes and socks and paddled in the water and watched the minnows and the little tiny frogs that were bouncing on the edge of the bank.
What I realised when I got home and I reflected on my day is that even though I hadn't intellectually reminded myself to live from love rather than fear,
What was interesting for me is that love had shown up anyway.
And in this instance the way that love showed up was in a wonderful space of listening.
So for me today is a reminder that even when I get distracted love will show up.
And it's good to know that listening and being present with another person is one of the ways that love shows up.
Do you remember we were talking about the idea of bringing your awareness or bringing my awareness back to the place of love that already exists within me?
Listening is a way of doing that too because when I listen I bring my awareness back to my inner wisdom and then from that space of wisdom and love I listen out to the wisdom and love in the other person.
So what I've seen today is that listening is actually a practice of living from love.
So just remember it doesn't matter if you get distracted,
It doesn't matter if you forget to remind yourself of the mantra living from love rather than fear.
Take some time to notice what turned up anyway for you and let me know how you got on.
Part of this is I really love to hear how you're getting on.
For me what I've really seen for today is that it doesn't matter if I get distracted and today has really shown me that listening,
Deep listening is actually a practice of love.
So that's what I've seen on day two that listening is a form of love.
Let me know how you're getting on.
