Hello and welcome.
My name is Nandi and today's meditation is called,
Who Are You Becoming?
And this practice was inspired by my own journey as an entrepreneur running a coaching and consulting business where,
Like many of us,
Have experienced both the highs and lows of growth.
It felt like just a month ago I was in a blooming season where everything was aligning.
It felt like every seed I planted began to bear fruit,
Sometimes even beyond my expectations.
But lately I've been finding myself in what I call a wilting season where some of my projects that seem promising at first are not manifesting or a partnership that I thought would blossom is fading.
And even my recent workshop,
Something I poured my heart into,
Didn't unfold the way I envisioned.
And as these moments unfolded one after the other,
I felt that sting of disappointment,
That ache we all know when things don't go as planned.
But as I sat with those feelings,
I remembered something deeper,
That there's a simple rhythm to life.
There will always be seasons of blooming and there will be seasons of wilting,
But both are necessary for growth.
But this isn't just my lesson,
It's one that we meet time and time again,
Where we are like a leaf in the wind being blown around by the highs and lows of life,
Where one moment we're excited when things go our way and the next we're brought to our knees when they don't.
But there is another way to live,
One that is rooted in equanimity,
In steadiness,
Regardless of the ups and downs of life.
It's the path of remembering that you always have a choice,
The choice to pause and ask,
Who am I becoming in this moment?
It's a simple yet profound question,
One that bridges the space between who you've been and who you're being called to be.
It's a self-inquiry that reminds you that you're not defined by your circumstances,
Nor life highs and lows,
But shaped by your conscious choices.
And so that's the invitation we'll explore in our practice today.
So if you haven't already,
Go ahead and close your eyes or lower your gaze,
Whatever feels comfortable for you.
And just begin by feeling the connection between your body and the space you're in.
And allowing yourself to fully arrive softly,
Gently into this present moment.
Feel your feet or your lower body resting firmly on the ground,
Feeling held and supported by the earth beneath you.
And on your next inhale,
Imagine drawing nourishment from the earth up into your body.
And as you exhale,
Soften any tension or tightness around your eyes,
Your jaw,
Your shoulders.
Allow your breath to soften even your belly,
Your hips,
Your feet,
All the way down to your toes.
And with every inhale,
Welcoming a sense of calm,
Ease,
Spaciousness in the body.
And with every exhale,
Release any stress or worries,
Anything that is not serving you in this moment.
And if for some reason your breath feels distant or hard to find,
You can always bring your awareness to your feet and just notice the sensations there,
The weight,
The temperature,
The contact with the floor beneath you.
As you continue to breathe,
I want you to imagine you're in a beautiful garden.
And this garden is a reflection of your life,
Where each plant represents something you've planted,
Nurtured,
And brought to fruition.
Those ideas that blossom into reality,
Those relationships that form a deep connection,
Maybe even those opportunities that open up new doors that you couldn't even imagine.
And as you look around,
Just notice the beauty here.
Notice how some plants are blooming,
Full of color,
Full of life.
Notice those plants that are slowly growing in the background.
Now,
As you look around,
You notice that there's one plant that is not doing so well.
Its leaves may be wilted,
Its soil a little dry.
And imagine walking over and kneeling next to this plant.
This plant that represents something in your life that you really wanted to work out,
And it hasn't turned out the way you hoped.
Again,
Maybe it's a dream,
An idea,
A goal,
A relationship,
So take a moment to name what this plant represent for you.
As you're kneeling next to this plant,
What did you hope this would bring or offer you?
Perhaps love,
Security,
Validation or freedom,
Fulfillment,
And as you look at this plant and what it represent for you,
What feelings come up?
Maybe disappointment or sadness or frustration or doubt.
Whatever feelings come up,
Can you welcome it?
Can you allow it to be there without feeling the need to fix it or push it away?
And at any point,
If you feel overwhelmed by your feelings,
Just slowly return back to your breath.
Now,
As you kneel in front of this plant,
You notice another presence walking towards you.
And this presence also kneels on the other side of the same wilted plant.
And as you look closer,
You notice that this presence is you,
But it's the wiser future version of you,
The part of you that sees clearly,
That knows deeply,
That trusts in the unfolding of your life.
So,
Take a moment here to notice this version of you.
How do they look?
How do they carry themselves?
What's their energy?
Perhaps steady or calm,
Confident.
And as you breathe,
Feel the connection between you and the future you.
And imagine this version of you leans in slightly with warmth and love,
And they begin to speak to you,
Sharing a message that you need to hear right now,
A message reminding you of who you are becoming.
And allow yourself to listen closely,
Not with your mind,
But with your heart.
What are they saying?
Maybe they're reminding you that you are the one who is rooted in trust,
Trusting in the natural unfolding of life,
Or the one who is grounded in gratitude,
Finding beauty,
Even in disappointments.
Or perhaps the one who lives from love and not fear.
And whatever words arises,
Or maybe images or symbols,
Can you soften to receive them?
Can you let their message land and nestle in your heart?
Now,
Take a deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Imagine merging with this future version of yourself,
As though you're stepping into their energy right now.
Feel this version of you integrating its energy into every cell,
Every tissue,
Every organ of your body.
And from this space,
This new energy within you,
Turn your attention back to that wilted plant.
What do you notice now that you couldn't see before?
Perhaps now you see possibilities where you once saw loss,
Perhaps you sense a deeper purpose or lesson unfolding.
Or maybe you feel inspired to tend to this plant with renewed love and energy.
Or maybe you might feel inspired to plant a new seed all together.
And just take a few breaths here and just simply notice what has shifted in your perspective.
What is this moment showing you now?
Now,
With this new awareness,
How might you embody this energy as you move forward in your life?
How might it shape the way you show up in your life?
In your work,
Your business,
Your relationships,
Your goals?
And imagine yourself living from this energy now.
Where in your body can you sense this new energy taking root?
Perhaps in your chest,
Your heart,
Maybe your belly.
And as you breathe into this feeling,
Imagine that wilted plant starting to bloom.
Noticing the petals opening slowly and gently,
Reflecting the new version of yourself that has taken root.
And so as you rest in this new awareness,
This new energy,
Take a moment to simply breathe here,
Allowing the feeling of your becoming to settle within you.
Now,
Take a deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Do so softly through your mouth.
And as we bring this meditation to a close,
Just know that you can always return to this space,
This energy,
Anytime you need to remember who you are,
The gardener,
The creator of your life,
Rooted in trust,
Grounded in gratitude,
And faithful to who you are becoming.
Now,
Take one final deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Gently bring some movement back into your body.
And whenever you're ready,
You can gently and softly open your eyes.
