Welcome back, my friend. This week's practice is a short, 5-minute guided meditation to help you create a little more space in your busy day. My hope is that these five minutes will help you slow down, check in with your body, and take extra good care of yourself today.

Hello my friend,

Welcome.

So on those days when it feels like there's just not enough time to do everything that needs to get done,

When we're racing from place to place and task to task,

It can be really easy to forget to check in and ignore our own needs.

And so today I want to take a few moments to briefly pause and come into the present.

So coming to your most comfortable position,

Let's begin by gently closing the eyes.

And really make space for yourself here.

Make space for the breath.

Noticing the quality of the breath,

The pace of it,

The length and duration of it.

And you might notice if the breath is deep,

Or shallow.

And as we begin,

Approaching this practice with a sense of friendliness and ease.

Letting yourself be open to what you might find as you create this quick pause in your day.

Settling into your body,

Notice the seat beneath you,

The ground under your feet,

And any sensations which may be here.

In the shoulders,

In the face,

Relaxing the jaw.

Perhaps you allow the teeth to part and the tongue to fall from the roof of the mouth.

Not worried about what came before this moment or what comes after,

But rather being right here where you are.

Sensing the feeling of hands resting in the lap.

And as always,

The gentle flow of the inhale and the exhale.

Flowing through the body like ocean waves crashing on the shore.

And before you move on to the next part of your day,

Perhaps if it feels right with your eyes still closed,

Placing a hand over your heart and offer yourself a thank you,

A moment of gratitude for showing up and checking in.

Thank you so much for meditating with me today.

Take extra good care and I'll see you again very soon.
