Welcome to this moment of self-forgiveness.

I know that you have been feeling far from perfect recently.

You have been exhausted,

Hopeless,

Or frustrated.

Sometimes you allowed those feelings to make decisions for you.

In this meditation,

We will take some time to forgive ourselves,

To celebrate the work we are doing to move forward,

And to give ourselves some self-love,

A love that we absolutely deserve.

Come to a comfortable seat,

Or maybe lie down in a comfortable position.

Take an inhale and give yourself a hug.

Grab onto your shoulders,

Or maybe just place your hands on your heart.

Exhale,

Release that breath.

As you continue to breathe,

Feel the gentle rise and fall of your body underneath your hands.

Often,

When we feel exhausted or hopeless or frustrated,

We turn our thoughts inward.

We tell ourselves not-so-nice things about ourselves.

We blame ourselves.

In this moment of forgiveness,

I want you to step away from those thoughts,

As if you were listening in to the things you have told yourself in the past.

Would you say these things to a best friend,

A colleague,

Your child?

Most likely you wouldn't have.

So it's time to flip the script.

We hear the things that we tell ourselves as if they were coming from someone else.

When you start to tell yourself things that you would not tell yourself,

Take a step away.

Listen.

Forgive yourself for speaking this way,

And offer yourself some kind words that will uplift you,

Not bring you down.

I'm going to repeat five affirmations that you can use during these moments of self-forgiveness and self-compassion.

Feel free to repeat them when you need some reassurance,

Some joy,

Or some hope.

Repeat these five affirmations aloud or just in your mind.

Number one.

My feelings are valid,

But they are under my control.

If I so choose,

I can take my time experiencing my feelings without letting them control my actions.

Number two.

I am worthy of kindness,

Patience,

And forgiveness.

I can provide this kindness,

Patience,

And forgiveness to myself.

Number three.

With focus on my breath and awareness of my thoughts,

I can shift the narrative of what I tell myself about myself.

Number four.

In this moment,

I take one positive step towards self-love.

This one step is part of a beautiful journey of self-love and self-care.

Number five.

I am loved.

I am hopeful.

I am moving forward in a positive direction.

Feel free to continue focusing on your breath or repeating your favorite affirmations as long as you need.

I thank you for joining me,

And congratulations on taking this positive step towards your well-being today.

Have a beautiful day.

You are loved.

You are hopeful.

You are moving forward in a positive direction.

You are moving forward in a positive direction.

You are moving forward in a positive direction.

I really liked this one. The affirmations were too long for me to remember and repeat...I wish you had repeated them a 2nd time. Other than that it was lovely.
