I'm Nikki Sutton.

Mindfulness is the practice of bringing your attention fully into the present moment and observing your thoughts,

Feelings and surroundings without judgment.

It helps to quiet a restless mind,

Reduce stress and bring greater clarity and peace to daily life.

In this sleep meditation,

You'll journey to a serene space and use vivid visualization to gently guide your focus back to the here and now for practice.

By cultivating mindfulness in a tranquil setting,

You can release the day's worries,

Connect with a sense of calm and develop the tools to carry mindfulness into your waking hours,

Fostering greater balance and well-being.

All this while you sleep.

So allow your gaze to soften now as you blink a few times,

Your eyelids growing heavy,

And allow them to close.

Let this simple act signal to your mind and body that it's time to unwind.

And as you settle under the comforting weight of your covers,

Feel the softness of the mattress holding your body,

Providing a safe and supportive place to rest.

Adjusting yourself into a position that feels completely comfy and cozy.

Now take a deep breath in slowly and fully into your belly.

And as you exhale,

Feel yourself letting go of the day's events.

Releasing any lingering thoughts or tension.

And take another deep,

Nourishing breath.

And as you exhale this time,

Notice your muscles softening,

Your shoulders releasing,

And your body becoming heavier.

Finally,

Draw in a third deep breath,

Inviting calm into every corner of your being.

And as you exhale,

You're preparing yourself for the journey into deep,

Restorative sleep.

And it's perfectly fine to allow yourself to fall asleep.

Even if my voice becomes distant and you drift off.

You're still bringing more mindfulness into your life because your subconscious mind is always listening,

Even during sleep.

Visualize or sense now,

You're stepping into a vast meadow,

Stretching out as far as you can see.

The sun is shining and it's a beautiful,

Warm day.

The air carries the faint,

Sweet scent of wildflowers that are blooming all around you.

Each flower is unique,

Some delicate and white,

Others rich in purples,

Yellows,

And soft blues.

The petals gently swaying in a whisper of a breeze.

Colorful,

Dainty butterflies dance around the flowers.

A birdsong echoes in the distance,

Adding to the serene atmosphere.

Allowing your gaze to rise now,

Towards the sky,

Becoming even more mindful of the here and now.

The sun,

Warm and brilliant,

Casts its golden light across the meadow,

Illuminating every blade of grass and every flower with a soft,

Nurturing glow.

The sky is radiant and endless,

A perfect canvas of blue,

With fluffy white clouds floating here and there.

Take a moment to appreciate the vastness of the sky,

Its openness reflecting the limitless potential for joy and calm within you.

Notice how your thoughts might arise sometimes,

And then gently bring your focus back to the beauty of this moment.

As you walk further into the meadow,

Bring your attention to the sensations around you right here.

The softness of the grass beneath your feet,

The sensation of the warm breeze against your skin.

And notice the way your body moves effortlessly,

Each step grounding you more deeply in this moment.

There's no rush,

Taking it easy.

There's no need to be anywhere else,

You are exactly where you need to be.

Once more,

If your mind begins to wander,

Gently guide it back to the present here.

The sound of the birds,

The feel of the grass,

Or the scent of the flowers.

Yet,

You may fall asleep,

And that's okay.

So sit for a little while on the soft grass,

Taking a moment to run your fingertips lightly over the blades of grass,

Feeling their texture.

Pick a single flower now and observe it closely.

Notice the intricate details of its petals,

The gentle curve of its stem,

And the way it holds its shape so delicately.

Let yourself marvel at its quiet beauty,

A reminder of the small wonders around you.

And allowing this act of observation to anchor you in mindfulness,

Fully present with the flower and the sensations it evokes.

As you settle into this space more and more,

Become aware of the stillness that envelops you,

A rich,

Vibrant sort of quiet filled with life and presence.

And tuning into the rhythm of your breath too.

The slow and steady rise and fall of your chest,

And the subtle sound of your inhales and exhales.

Each inhale draws in the peaceful energy of this place,

And each exhale releases any lingering tension,

Letting it drift away into the warmth of the day.

And let your awareness expand outward now,

Sensing the interconnectedness of everything in the meadow.

The flowers,

The grass,

The earth,

The sky,

And you.

You are part of this scene,

As essential and natural as the sun above or the soil beneath.

And there's nothing to strive for right now,

Nothing that has to be done.

You can relax.
