In a village,

A snake's repeated bites instilled fear,

Keeping villagers away from the fields.

The master,

Respected for his sanctity,

Was believed to have convinced the snake to adopt non-violence.

Discovering the snake's harmless nature,

The villagers turned aggressive,

Hurling stones and dragging it by its tail.

The badly injured snake sought refuge in master's home,

Complaining of the treatment.

The master remarked,

Friend,

You have stopped frightening people.

That is not ideal.

But you taught me non-violence,

Protested the snake.

I instructed you to cease causing harm,

Not to abandon your warning hiss,

Clarified the master.
