Welcome to this guided meditation to help you fall into a deep rest.
Start by finding a comfortable position,
Either sitting or lying down,
And close your eyes.
Begin to feel the surface beneath you,
The softness or hardness of the surface,
The temperature of the material,
And how it feels on your skin.
Feel the weight of the body growing heavy,
And at the same time the forehead softens,
And the eyebrows begin to release down by the sides of the face.
Cheeks and jaw soft.
The shoulders release,
And the hips relax.
Legs falling gently down by the sides,
And feel the weight of the legs ground down into the earth.
Feel the hips grow heavy,
Sinking and melting into the earth,
And begin to feel the whole body dissolve.
Begin to release your idea of meditation,
Letting go of any expectations,
Any techniques or goals,
And let's just make it into a moment spent with yourself.
Just you,
Your body,
Your breathing,
Leaning into the experience of the breath.
Not of you doing the breath,
Since most of the time you don't even notice it.
Rather,
This experience of the breath breathing you,
Leaning into this process that began from the very first moment of your life until this very moment.
The breath breathing through your body,
Filling each of your cells with breath,
Filling each of your cells with oxygen,
Filling each of your cells with life.
Allowing this process to unfold.
The breath rising from the innate intelligence of the body through countless evolutions and countless millennia.
The simple process of the taking in of the good,
And the taking out of the excess.
In with the fresh,
And out with the old.
A beautiful exchange of the air within with the air of the universe beyond.
Who is it that experiences this breath?
Who is it that feels what you feel?
That sees what you see?
That thinks what you think?
Who is it behind that awareness?
Can you sit back further in the seat of the observer?
Becoming aware of your awareness.
Allowing your awareness to experience itself.
Just noticing.
Just breathing.
Just feeling.
Just thinking.
Allowing yourself to connect to all of that in a true,
Open,
And honest way without trying to escape from any of it.
And in this moment,
In this expansiveness,
Time and space fade away.
There's nothing to do.
Nothing to cling to.
Nothing to hold on to.
Just the pure awareness of this very moment as it is.
Can you accept this moment in its entirety exactly as it is?
Nothing to do.
Nowhere to go.
Just be here,
Now.
