*Please note: This practice was designed for the new year, however is applicable at any time*. May the completion of this year find you well and may you take the space to open to what is coming in the New Year. In my experience, this is an important process if we want to make ourselves available to the deep fulfillment that reveals when we step into the unknown. To make space for the new, I am offering a meditation to guide you in emptying and clearing out old baggage that may be preventing you from experiencing the depths of your being. We will let go of any notions of things we should have, could have, or a would have done. We will also offer loving appreciation for all that we have done and all that we are. I invite you to breathe deeply and join me for today's meditation: Beginning Again Meditation by Padma Gordon. *Gratitude to Marina Raye for sharing her music track “Awakening Dream” from the album Liquid Silk.

Welcome everyone.

This is Padma.

And first I just want to wish you all goodness for this holiday season and for the coming year.

May it bring you untold amounts of beauty,

Joy and true fulfillment.

That's really what I want for myself and for everyone is the deepest fulfillment.

So that's what I would like to offer you a meditation about today.

Reflecting and clearing out the extra stuff that is in the way of you experiencing true fulfillment inside yourself in the depths of your being.

So I invite you to join me for this final meditation of 2017 and make yourself comfortable.

Sit back,

Lay down if you have the space,

Close your eyes.

Take a few minutes for yourself to clear your head,

To empty out.

So how about we begin with some yummy deep breaths.

Breath creates space.

Breath opens us.

Breath is a simple pathway to accessibility.

If you want to have deep access to yourself,

Breathe.

And every breath can be a deep,

Releasing,

Cleansing breath.

What if you take a few minutes to just let go of the things that did not get done in this year?

We are not alone in leaving things on our lists.

The absolute questionability of completing every task applies to one and all in my experience.

The breath of letting go,

The breath of acceptance.

We are accepting ourselves as we are and forgiving ourselves.

Let us forgive ourselves for what we were unable to complete or to offer.

Let us forgive ourselves for the places we fumbled and bumbled.

Maybe the places where we were rushing and skipped over being kind to one of our fellow humans.

So forgiving ourselves for the places where we had moments of unconsciousness,

Moments of self-absorption,

Comes with the territory of being human.

So let us forgive ourselves.

We are forgiving ourselves and releasing any judgments,

Any self-criticism.

And if it serves you,

You can imagine it leaving your body,

Exiting through your extremities,

The fingertips,

The toes,

The sides of the body,

The mouth,

Letting go,

Releasing,

Clearing.

And you can do this practice repeatedly in your life while we're still in 2017 and even into 2018.

It doesn't expire.

And now let us shift our focus.

We're shifting our focus and shining the warm light of care,

Of deep appreciation for everything we did accomplish.

Breathing it in as you let it out,

Circulating it throughout your whole body and being throughout every cell and fiber of you.

Inhaling all the moments where we did stop,

Where we did turn to the person behind us in line at the market,

Where we were generous.

We invited them to go ahead of us because they only had one or two items and because they looked stressed,

Like they were in a rush.

So acknowledging ourselves for all the moments when our goodness,

Our kindness and our generosity shine through.

Breathing it in,

Circulating it out through your whole body and being so that every breath is a blessing.

Every breath is a blessing.

Every breath is a prayer.

Every breath is a prayer of appreciation for ourselves,

Gratitude for the ways we showed up and we are showing up for ourselves,

The people we know and the people we don't know,

As well as the people we don't know yet.

Marinating in appreciation and gratitude.

And the more you do this,

The more it is living in you,

Breathing through you so that when you and I and all of us are moving around in the world,

This light,

This appreciation and gratitude is shining through so that we cross the threshold into a new time,

To a new year,

Full of gratitude,

Love and light.

I wish you all blessings,

All blessings,

So much gratitude,

Love and light.

Gratitude,

Love and light.
