Hello,
Paschal Indy here and welcome to this practice called seeing with the eyes of your heart.
The Canadian forest therapist Haida Bolton says that we should hold our heart softly and notice the forest with the eyes of your heart.
So I'm inviting you to take a moment now to look around,
Maybe at a tree if you're outdoors or out of the window or in the room.
When you look around this space with the eyes of your heart,
What do you see?
What calls your attention when you're invited to look that way?
What changes about the way you look when you see with the eyes of your heart?
Maybe something in you softens or gentles or opens.
Maybe there's more appreciation or love of what you see around you arising and maybe not,
You know,
Whatever you're feeling is absolutely fine,
That's your experience.
And as best we can allowing ourselves to be changed by this,
Changed inside.
And inviting you now to let your attention be called by just one object,
Maybe it's a plant or a particular tree.
Take a few moments to really look deeply with the eyes of your heart and noticing how you feel when you look this way.
What are you feeling emotionally?
And if we wish,
Now turning those eyes on ourselves how does it feel to see ourselves with the eyes of our heart?
What changes in the way that we see ourselves when we look from the heart's perspective?
Is this perhaps a friendly or kinder way of seeing yourself?
But again,
There's no right or wrong thing to feel here,
Just noticing.
And if we want to now looking around again at the world outside and perhaps looking at some people,
A person with the eyes of our heart.
How does it feel to see them in this way?
And if there's nobody in your space at the moment with the eyes of your heart,
Does anything change about the way you see this person?
At the end of this practice,
I like to take a few moments to appreciate any feelings of well-being which might have arisen,
Any feelings of calm,
Kindness,
Care,
Contentment.
Receiving those as best I can.
You're invited to do the same.
And you might even enjoy placing a hand on your heart as if to say,
Thank you,
Heart.
And as we go back to our day,
You're invited to pause from time to time and notice how it is to see something around you or see yourself again with the eyes of your heart.
Go well,
Dear friend.
