Let's begin by gently closing your eyes and starting to relax your body in the room that you're in.
Can you feel all the parts of your body that are being supported right now by whatever you are sitting or laying on?
Can you start to relax all the muscles in your face,
In your cheeks,
In your jaw?
If your tongue is pressed against the roof of your mouth,
Can you soften it?
Relaxing your shoulders,
Letting go of any tension you're holding in your neck or your shoulders.
Starting to become aware of the sensation and feeling of your breath.
Can you feel the air as it comes in through your nose and out through your mouth?
Taking a big deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Exploring anywhere in your body right now that is feeling tension or tightness or resistance.
Can you use your breath to breathe right into these spaces and start to soften some of the tension here?
Breathe.
And if at any point in this experience you notice your mind start to wander or you feel your body experiencing resistance,
It's okay.
It's actually very normal and you can really gently take a nice big deep breath in and return to the sound of my voice.
Breathe.
So today's meditation we are going to explore what it feels like to surrender to the unknown.
So let's begin by imagining that you are walking into a beautiful forest in nature and there are hundreds of trees in this forest.
Look around and feel their sense of stability.
Feel how they plant their roots right into the earth.
And find one of these trees that is calling to you right now and imagine yourself just walking up to this tree and just sitting down right next to it,
Feeling your back pressed against the trunk.
And taking a few big deep breaths and allowing your body to ground here.
And starting to bring into your mind an area of your life where you are being asked to surrender into the unknown.
Maybe in your career or in a relationship or something connected to your own journey.
Just bringing this situation into your mind.
Starting to think of all of the people or circumstances involved that are asking you to take a risk and step beyond the fear and into the unknown.
And as you bring this situation into your mind,
Just noticing in your body where you feel this experience.
Where does the fear,
The discomfort,
The tension live in your body?
Just finding it and breathe.
You're doing great.
And what is the fear that's here as you breathe into this area?
What is the fear that is preventing you right now from stepping into the unknown?
Is it a fear of not being in control or being worried that you might not be successful or that you'll be judged in some way by yourself or someone else or that you'll be rejected?
Just breathing into whatever feels alive for you right now.
With every breath,
Can you imagine that fear dissipating just a little bit?
Using this power of this beautiful tree to support you.
Can you think about a time that you were successful in stepping into the unknown?
When you were able to fully surrender and let go of that control,
Then the outcome was actually really positive.
Just noticing whatever is coming into your mind,
Whatever memory or experience from the past.
Can you harness in this moment some of that courage that you know you have,
That resilience that you possess,
And that ability that you have to trust that everything is happening in perfect timing?
I trust the path forward.
Just breathing into that.
I trust the path forward.
I see and believe in my willingness to step into the unknown.
Whatever the outcome is on the other side,
You will grow and you will learn.
That will make you better.
Just breathing into that.
You are exactly where you need to be right now.
You can trust that you know exactly what you need to do to move forward.
As we move into some sound for the next few minutes,
Can you allow yourself just to breathe into whatever is alive for you right now?
If you're feeling fear,
It's okay.
Just breathe.
If you're feeling ready and more confident and more trusting,
Allow yourself to see the possibility of what can happen by stepping fully into the unknown.
Knowing the sound will give you exactly what you need right now.
Breathe and listen to your body.
Enjoy this experience.
