Welcome to Day 23,

The Scope of Sadness.

Begin by feeling at home where you are right now.

At home with the sounds and sights around you.

Shift your posture to a comfortable,

Awake position.

And with closed eyes shift your awareness inside to your breath.

Follow the stream of air as you inhale and exhale.

Let your thoughts and feelings fly by in the space of your mind and heart.

Let your thoughts and feelings fly by in the space of your mind and heart.

Let your thoughts and feelings fly by in the space of your mind and heart.

Let your thoughts and feelings fly by in the space of your mind and heart.

When was the last time you cried?

Personally I was too caught up with the demands of society to even notice that I had stopped crying for years.

Almost a whole decade of my teenage life passed by and I didn't cry once.

Because who has time for crying?

And who wants to be weak and cry?

And how could I cry as long as I kept carrying my mask to keep the charade going?

You know the charade of pretending that everything is always fine?

How are you doing?

It's all fine.

How are you?

I'm fine.

No,

It's never all fine.

All of us know someone who died,

Who we still might long for but I pretend we forgot.

And all of us feel some longing that can at times evoke sadness in our heart.

All of us feel,

Somewhere,

The deep sorrow of the earth that thousands of species are killed and destroyed.

The lands and oceans polluted only to maximize the net gains for some stockholder humans who also have forgotten how to cry a long time ago.

The next time you feel sadness,

It could be a knot in the throat,

Tightness in the chest.

Go to a safe place and cry your heart out.

Drop the mask and feel the ocean of air around your cheeks.

And let all that is unmoored be mourned.

The meaning of sadness is to honour.

To honour our losses,

What was.

To honour our grief,

What could have been.

Let the elevator of air elevate the sadness from your chest to your throat in every breath and all the way up to your glimmering eyes.

And breathe as the miracle comes when the water of life flows from your eyes.

So much goodness and power that can be released in a single tear,

This pearl of sadness.

Congratulations,

You have finished day 23 and have become a steward of the sacred pearls of sadness.

Let's finish by taking a moment of gratitude.

Give thanks for all the good things you have received.

And feel grateful to yourself for all the good deeds you have done for your own and everyone else's wellbeing.

Thank you for this, I actually don't have a problem crying and grieving, but still need to drop the mask in other situations. 🙏💙💛
