Here's a trick question for you.

Are you glad you took that hike?

Ha!

Let's phrase it a different way.

Trick question.

Are you glad you went to the beach?

Trick question.

Are you glad you connected with that friend?

Trick question.

Are you glad that you meditated?

Trick question.

We could we could fill this blank in with any number of themes that are associated with things that we know that make us feel happier.

And when it comes to the things that make us happier,

Make us more balanced,

Make us more vibrant,

Vital,

They're no-brainers.

Just about everyone agrees,

Even the people that don't do them,

Even people that don't eat healthy would agree that eating healthy is somewhat important to a large extent.

Even people that don't exercise would say yes,

Exercise is important.

So what are we getting at?

We already know what to do.

How do we jumpstart our tuchus,

Which is a Yiddish word for booty,

How do we jumpstart that into doing things that we know will benefit us?

Well,

One,

We're all different,

So there's no one size fits all.

Two,

Let's do some affirmations.

It's the new year.

Granted,

The true new year starts in Aries in March,

But you know,

For us Gregorians on the Gregorian calendar,

Well,

We'll play along.

Ha!

You can do this anytime to make your affirmations and intentions more vibrant.

So let's see what's coming up for us.

It's number five on my list.

It's a positive emotion.

It's an aspect of who we truly are,

And that's joy.

When we have joy in our lives,

When we're connected to the joy that we actually are,

Because we're love and joy is an aspect of love.

When we're connected to that joy,

We naturally want to do things that benefit us and others.

There's an outpouring of positive beneficial activity,

Action,

And beingness.

But right now,

We're not that connected to our joy,

If we're being honest.

Say joy out loud.

How did it sound?

Did it sound joyful,

Or did it sound a little,

A little something?

Let's see how it sounds for me.

Joy.

So for me,

It was grounded,

But in its groundedness,

It also wasn't illuminated.

It didn't have the light in it that I know I can have when I say it.

And how we say things matters.

It indicates how much we believe on a conscious and subconscious level,

How much we're connected to that reality.

So I developed an affirmation.

I invite you to say it after me.

I'll say it once without you saying it after me,

So you get the hang of it.

I choose to improve my relationship to the truth of joy,

Which is a part of who I am,

From the light of the light of me.

Ha!

Joy.

Now when I say it,

It's lit up.

I didn't make that up.

There's still a little heaviness in my stomach when I said that,

But it's just bringing up more stuff for us to work with,

And we'll do that next.

But you felt the lightness in my heart.

So repeat after me if you want to improve relationship to joy.

Here we go.

Say it out loud.

I choose to improve my relationship to the truth of joy,

Which is a part of who I am,

From the light of the light of me.

Good.

Now take a deep breath.

Yes!

I'm feeling the shift take place.

So now this belly action that's going on,

It's sort of like there's a part of our belly that's not digesting us being more connected to joy.

We're all connected on this call.

So for me to say that might sound a little strange,

Like your belly,

My belly,

But we're all connected.

We're all working through this at the same time,

And there's a oneness in life that's pretty undeniable.

So that has to do with building,

Why there's that aspect in our belly.

Like there's a part of us that's not quite ready to step up to the life that these new intentions have,

That this new joy would bring to our life.

We're not quite ready for that because we don't have a good relationship to building.

If you live in an old community and someone proposes a modern new building that you're just not ready for,

All that could mean you might not want to be built.

And joy is a new building in your community that's going to create new activity.

And let's get on board with it because this new life is needed and it's coming through strong.

So repeat after me.

Here we go.

I choose to improve my relationship to the truth of building,

Which is a part of who I truly am,

From the light of the light of me.

Take a deep breath.

Now building is an aspect of love,

And love is who we truly are.

So building is a part of who we are,

If that didn't quite jive when you heard it.

All right,

Stomach's feeling good.

Now say joy.

Yeah,

I bet it's sounding real good.

All right,

Our intentions are,

We're aligned with having more of what we want in our life now.

Now we just have to do three things,

And everyone's different,

But these three things are coming up universally for those listening.

To make more of those activities that we know will be good for us,

To make those trick questions actual trick questions,

Because we know they're so foolproof.

The hikes,

The beach time,

The eating healthy,

The exercise.

All right,

So one,

Utilize a calendar.

Even if you know you might not follow through,

Put in your Apple calendar,

Your Google calendar,

Your written calendar,

Times to do the things that you want to do.

The exercise,

The grocery shopping for eating right,

The making a list for grocery shopping,

The getting the right outfit together for taking that hike,

That walk.

I know it's,

It might not be the perfect weather outside right now,

But you have clothes that can make it the perfect weather.

So that's the first thing,

Put it in your calendar.

I'm gonna start doing this,

Putting stuff in my calendar that I know I need to do for my wellness,

And we'll see how I follow through with it.

But the first steps,

Put it in the calendar,

Set up a reminder.

Okay,

Two and three.

Two would be reaching out to a friend,

Either text,

Email,

Or even a call next time you talk to them.

And it could be your parent,

A sibling,

A child.

But just let them know about your,

Your forming a commitment to this new intention,

This new healthy activity.

Whether it's walking more,

Hiking more,

Following through on a book you want to write,

Something fun.

And the third thing that's coming through,

We'll get to in just a second,

I can take a slight pause.

And number three,

Keep dreaming.

Because the dreams that we make possibly manifest or better.

And you can have with your dreams this or better.

I've learned that that's a really good way to do it.

Like you make a goal and then say that or better.

Because sometimes life brings us better than we can even imagine.

And the whole,

The whole point of dreaming is gets you excited about stuff,

Get stuff moving,

Work with the universe,

Work with life itself to get things going on your behalf.

Now there is the whole mentality let life bring you what it brings you.

Yes,

But you can also make an intention,

Make a dream,

Let go of it,

Send it out into the universe,

Move on with your day,

And then see what comes your way.

I find that that's really powerful and practical.

So right now I'm in more of a make dreams,

Make goals,

Make ideas,

Put things into motion type,

Type of thing.

And then let go of it,

Don't have attachment to it.

And see what comes back.

It'll be something beautiful,

I know it.

So this is a small slice of how my work can work.

Sessions usually last about 40 minutes and we we do a lot more the positive motion affirmation work to go really deep and light up these parts of ourselves that are looking to be lit up and out pictured into our lives and into the world to make the world a better place.
