This is a gratitude practice.  Gratitude has a medicinal quality. When you bring your attention to what you’re truly grateful for, you feel lighter, happier, more connected to your true self, and more connected to everyone around you. In this meditation, we offer gratitude to all we experience through the gift of our five senses, as well as by acknowledging the people in our lives, the challenges we face, and our own unique gifts and talents.

This is a gratitude practice.

Gratitude has a medicinal quality.

When you bring your attention to what you're truly grateful for,

You feel lighter,

Happier,

More connected to your true self and more connected to everyone around you.

So let's explore what we have to be grateful for.

Find your comfortable seat,

Gently close your eyes,

And really allow yourself to settle here into this space.

Now take a couple deep breaths,

Allowing your nervous system to just slow down.

Letting go of anything that happened before this moment,

Letting go of anything outside this room,

And just being here now.

First,

Let's consider our physical bodies.

We often take for granted how perfectly designed our bodies are.

They house our organs and allow us to experience this physical world through our senses.

So let's take a moment to thank them for all they do for us.

As you inhale,

Bring your attention all the way down to your feet.

Feel grateful for the support of these feet that carry you around all day.

These feet are connection points between our physical bodies and Mother Earth.

They carry our weight.

They get us from point A to point B so we can experience so many wonderful things.

So take a moment and really be grateful for your feet.

Next,

Bring your awareness up to your hands.

These hands have held so much.

We have held our loved ones,

Our children.

They have allowed us to express love through a touch,

A caress,

A hug.

Let's really offer gratitude to these hands.

And bring your awareness to your nose.

This nose has made it possible for you to smell the salty ocean air,

Sweet aroma of flowers and bloom,

Your favorite childhood meal.

Offer gratitude to your nose.

Bring your awareness to your lips and mouth that tastes and savers and nourishes.

It kisses,

It sings,

It speaks words that can inspire,

Elevate,

And affect change.

Be grateful for your lips and your mouth and your voice.

Now bring your awareness to your eyes.

These eyes that allow you to see the beauty all around you,

The smiles of your loved ones,

The colors of the trees,

The sunrise,

The sunset,

The mountains,

A cloudless sky.

Be grateful to your eyes.

And bring your awareness to your ears.

These ears that allow you to hear music and laughter,

The voices of those that you love.

You can even hear the silence,

All of the beautiful sounds of life.

So be grateful to your ears.

And now bring your awareness to your heart.

Your heart pumps blood through your entire body.

It functions with precision day in and day out.

Your physical existence depends on it.

It is your constant companion.

Now go even deeper inside your heart center,

Past the sternum to that beautiful space where you receive and give love.

And while you're here,

Connecting to this space,

Take a moment to consider who you have in your life to be grateful for.

Maybe you're grateful for your children who remind you on a daily basis that you are unconditionally loved.

Or for your friends who let you bend their ear when you desperately need it.

Or your spouse who accepts and loves you as you are,

As you both grow and evolve separately and together all at once.

Now go even deeper inside your heart center,

Past the sternum to that beautiful space where you receive and give love.

And while you're here,

Connecting to this space,

Take a moment to consider who you have in your life to be grateful for.

And while you're here,

Connecting to this space,

Take a moment to consider who you have in your life to be grateful for.

And while you're here,

Connecting to this space,

Take a moment to consider who you have in your life to be grateful for.

And now consider what lessons or challenges you're currently facing and send these challenges gratitude as well.

Maybe you lost a job that had no longer been serving you,

Or you severed a relationship that you knew in your heart you had outgrown.

Offer gratitude for the wisdom in recognizing that all challenges you're facing are lessons adding to your growth and transformation.

Offer gratitude to these challenges.

And now consider what lessons or challenges you're currently facing and send these challenges gratitude as well.

And while you're here,

Connecting to this space,

Take a moment to consider who you have in your life to be grateful for.

And while you're here,

Connecting to this space,

Take a moment to consider who you have in your life to be grateful for.

And while you're here,

Connecting to this space,

Take a moment to consider who you have in your life to be grateful for.

And while you're here,

Connecting to this space,

Take a moment to consider who you have in your life to be grateful for.

And finally,

Take a moment to sit in gratitude for the unique gifts you have.

What gifts do you have that are uniquely and undeniably yours?

Are you a great listener,

Teacher,

Storyteller,

Friend?

Do people gravitate toward you because you make them feel good?

Be grateful for those aspects of you that are your gifts.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Let's take one final slow,

Deep breath in through the nose.

Send that breath down to the tips of your toes.

And exhale through the mouth,

Letting it all go.

As you get ready to move on with your day,

Remember to be grateful for you,

For your perfect imperfections,

Your light,

Your dark,

The broken,

The whole.

You are a divine creation,

And you are exactly where you need to be.

And when you feel ready,

You can open your eyes.

Thank you for meditating with me today.

Namaste.

My takeaway: Grateful to be here now, this idea needs nourishing before looking elsewhere. I'm where I need to be, I hope so, I want that to be enough. I need that to be a solid foundation . :) KEY: 5*Insightful 4*Interesting 3*Okay 2*Not For Me 1*Irritating
