Welcome to your morning meditation.

I'm going to invite you to find a comfortable position for the body.

Comfortable seated position,

Comfortable lying down position.

But decide how you're going to place the body,

And then go ahead and do that.

And once the body itself is placed,

If you're comfortable doing so,

Take a moment to close the eyes.

And as we close the eyes,

There's a tendency to look inwards,

To start to become more aware of what the body needs.

Does it need shifting,

Or does it need to be readjusted?

Maybe the legs need a little bit more room.

Maybe the palms of the hands would be more comfortable facing down on the knees of the thighs.

Perhaps the body would feel more supported sitting on a block or a cushion,

Or not.

But once the body itself feels like it is in a comfortable and stable position,

Let's immediately begin to tune into the breathing,

Becoming aware of the inhale and the exhale,

The inhalation passing through the nose,

Filling up the lungs,

Expanding the rib cage,

The thoracic cavity,

And the exhalation passing through the nose,

The torso almost deflating back to its default positioning.

Breathing happening.

Very little that needs to be done or manipulated aside from just observing.

Observing the body doing what it does,

Breathing itself.

And as we begin to fall into that role of the observer and the witness,

Start to become aware of sensations in the body associated to hope,

Hope for the day ahead,

Hope associated to the possibilities that exist in the day ahead,

Associated to the conversations that we might have and the people that we might encounter,

Hope for what the day has in store for us that we are completely oblivious to right now,

Hope associated to the more challenging moments that might present themselves and give us the opportunity to rise to those moments and respond to them with wisdom,

Respond to them with a maturity and a patience and a deeper understanding that these moments are not here to simply knock us around,

But to ask us to respond in ways that allow us to meet instead of reject,

Allow us to integrate instead of repel,

And so just tuning into the sensations of hope for the day ahead,

Regardless of what it has in store for us,

Knowing that no matter what occurs,

It will be glorious and it will be beautiful and it will be another day,

Perhaps conjuring up imagery of light,

Whether that light is associated to sun,

Whether it is sunlight that all of a sudden starts to become visible in the mind's eye,

Or whether it is disassociated,

Non-associated light,

Just imagining a light right in front of you,

Right now,

Visible through the closed eyelids,

A warm yellow-orangey light,

And perhaps on the inhalation that light intensifies a little bit,

And on the exhale it wanes just a little bit,

Perhaps on the inhalation,

Visualizing,

Drawing that light into the body to fill it up,

And then exhaling to let it go,

Let it pass out of the body once again,

And then once again on the inhalation,

Drawing that light into the body fully,

Right down to the tips of the toes,

Tips of the fingers,

And this time as you exhale,

Some of it stays in the body,

And on the next inhalation,

Once again the body fills up with that light,

That warmth,

And once again on the exhalation,

More of that light stays in the body,

More of that warmth,

Continuing to breathe for a moment,

And with every inhalation,

Light and warmth filling up the body,

A peaceful energy,

A buoyant light,

Embodied more and more with every inhalation,

And just when you feel that the body itself is full of this warmth and full of this light,

This peaceful energy,

Almost to the point where it surpasses the actual perimeters of the physical body itself,

Let the shoulders fall away from the ears,

Let the corners of the mouth lift in a gentle smile,

And just take a moment in the position that you find yourself in,

And just observe the experience of embodying this light,

This buoyancy,

A buoyancy that will carry you through the day,

A buoyancy that will keep you above the line,

Connected to hope,

Connected to wisdom,

Connected to focus and perspective,

Connected to kindness and compassion,

But most of all,

Connected to the certainty that no matter what the day ahead has in store for you,

You will meet it,

And you will handle it,

And it will pass,

And you will keep going.

So for a moment,

Just rest.

Rest in this energy,

In this light,

In this hope,

In this buoyancy,

And let it carry you through today.
