Reuben guides us into ourselves and into this day. We allow our bodies to soften, surrendering to this moment. With gentle half smiles, we focus on our sacred out-breath, each one reminding us to soften and allow a little more. With every exhale, our bodies relax more deeply. We are reminded to remind our dear bodies that we are safe and that all is well. We get to appreciate the moment that we have carved out for ourselves, loving the softness and tranquillity that we have chosen.

As I go within,

I come into myself this morning,

Allowing my body to soften.

It is in the softening where the surrender takes place.

And with a gentle half-smile,

I focus upon my out-breath.

And each out-breath that I gently track is a reminder for me that my body can relax just a little more.

I use each out-breath to not only keep me grounded with this point of focus for my practice,

But I also use it as a reminder to relax.

As each out-breath happens,

My body relaxes more and more.

Out-breath,

Connection,

And soften.

Out-breath,

Connection,

And relax.

I am safe right now,

As I go within.

All is well in my immediate surroundings,

As I go within.

I love this moment that I have carved out for myself.

I love the softness of this moment that I have chosen for myself right now.

Out-breath,

Connection,

And soften.

Out-breath,

Connection,

And relax a little more.

I choose the softness of this moment.

My body needs a little reminding now and again that all is well in my immediate surroundings.

My body needs a little reminder sometimes that I am safe right now.

I can drop into this moment by using my out-breath.

The more I connect to the out-breath,

Even if only for a second or two,

The very moment the connection takes place,

My nervous system begins to downregulate.

The more time I spend gently connected to this out-breath experience,

Again and again,

Getting distracted and coming back with that quality of gentleness,

The more I do this,

The more I find myself in this inner refuge.

This space that I have carved out for myself creates this inner refuge,

This safe space within me.

And this nurtures me.

This nurtures my soul.

This nurtures my mind.

This nurtures my body.

And this nurturing energy I give to the world as I go about my day,

Thanks to going within.

Out-breath,

Connection,

And soften.

Out-breath,

Connection,

And relax.

So calming I fell asleep! It is truely a miracle that I have found a way of relaxing, becoming grounded and falling asleep! Ai Weiwei says that one small act is worth a million thoughts. I think a few Reuben words are worth more than any of us realize. Thank you Reuben 🙏

This reaffirmed what I have been saying to myself lately; “soften, open, release”. Thanks Reuben 🙏🏻
