Welcome and good morning.

This is your five minutes before work meditation.

I'd like to invite you now to find a comfortable upright seat,

One that serves you on this morning,

At the edge of your bed,

Your chair,

Or maybe even on the floor.

Notice any morning stiffness that might be there,

Or morning madness from the kind of morning you've had so far.

Whatever is going on for you here is just fine.

Take a few deep inhales and exhales here,

Noticing the quality of these breath cycles.

And whatever quality it is you've detected,

That's yours,

And it's here,

And it's totally fine.

And just like you've carved out time to show up for yourself this morning,

Begin to carve out a kind of breath that supports you throughout the day today,

Letting the inhale be conscious and knowing,

Rising up through the spine to the top of your head,

And the exhale conveying that knowledge that you are being carried and supported.

Maybe what comes up for you isn't yet a feeling of support.

Maybe you're restless or your thoughts are traveling a mile a minute.

It doesn't matter,

Because you are breathing.

You conduct the symphony of breath and rhythm.

So just take that in for a moment and rein in what is already yours.

As you allow more and more of this calmness to travel through you,

Maybe you'd like to think of just one thing you are grateful for in your work.

Maybe it is the kind of work you are able to do.

Maybe it is the people,

The creativity,

The meaningfulness it holds for you.

Maybe it is just the fact that you are able to work that makes you feel grateful this morning.

Whatever the thought,

Receive it with your breath.

Just stay here for a few moments,

Maybe building on this sense of gratitude,

Amplifying it with each new inhale and letting it anchor with each successive exhale.

If you like,

You can pause the recording here and stay here as long as your time allows today.

If you need to get moving,

Begin to prepare yourself to return to your body and indeed this day ahead.

Returning to this meditation as often as you feel like it,

Maybe even throughout your work day.

Thank you for being here.

Namaste.
