Hello and welcome to this guided meditation,
I'm Richard Willis and my voice will guide you in this eye of the storm meditation,
A chance to acknowledge stress and anxiety and move beyond it into a place of calm and serenity.
So make yourself comfy and just simply allow my voice to go with you as your mind is gently guided through this meditation.
First close your eyes and begin with a deep breath in and a long breath out,
Then let your breathing settle into a natural rhythm and let your body settle with it.
Let the muscles soften,
Body relaxing and mind relaxing and whatever worries or stress you have on your mind,
Begin to imagine this stress like a swirling storm around you.
You can feel the wind,
The rain moving so fast,
So destructively,
Lashing out in pure chaos and then within that chaos you realize it's actually become a little better than you originally thought.
You're actually getting used to it and the more you simply acknowledge the chaos around you,
The calmer you become,
The more accepting of the chaos,
The more peaceful you feel and now it seems like the storm is further from you,
Still all around you,
But you're in a calmer spot in the middle.
The more you simply look,
The more calm it becomes until there is just stillness.
Outside the boundary of this area is the uncontrollable nature of the world,
The storm,
But in the middle is you,
At peace in the eye of the storm.
Beyond is what you accept you can't control,
But the eye is the boundary of your own mind,
Your ability to choose how to react to the world and you can always have this sense of calm as you move through the world.
So channel that calm now,
Whatever rage is beyond,
You're there,
Calm,
Controlled,
Peaceful in the stillness of the eye of the storm.
Take a minute now to embrace this empowering feeling,
This peaceful feeling.
Well done.
Now open your eyes,
Bringing yourself back into your surroundings,
Back into the present moment.
You can use this visualization technique whenever you feel your life is becoming chaotic.
Just stop,
Be still and stand in the eye of the storm,
Accepting what can't be controlled and focusing on what you can and let the calm come.
