Astral Projection | Yoga Nidra & Hot Air Balloon Technique

This astral projection meditation is designed to help you have an out-of-body experience (OBE) or astral travel with ease. I will first guide you to a state of "mind awake, body asleep." Once you're in this state of deep conscious relaxation, you will guided through a simple exit technique, called the hot air balloon technique. It's inspired by a technique I learned from William Buhlman and also helps release fears and blocks that might be preventing you from having an out of body experience. My voice will fall away after about 28 minutes of guidance, allowing you to immerse yourself whatever experience you are having - whether it's deep relaxation, a full out-of body experience or deep sleep. This astral projection track uses alpha waves, created by Elevated State of Self in the background. The track can also be used as a sleep meditation as my voice will not bring you back and you are free to drift in a state of deep sleep.

Namaste,

I'm Rosalie and welcome to this guided astral projection meditation designed to help you astral project with ease.

I will first guide you to a light altered state using yoga nidra.

The whole idea is to allow your body to deeply relax whilst you keep your mind awake and alert.

This mind-awake,

Body-asleep state is the optimal springboard for an out-of-body experience.

Once you're in this light altered state of awareness,

I'll guide you through a simple technique to exit the physical body.

There are many techniques,

The one we'll explore in this track is inspired by a technique I learned from William Buhlmann.

It's the hot air balloon technique.

Trust that whatever happens is the perfect experience for you at this time.

No pressure,

No expectations.

Could you allow yourself to simply be open and receptive to whatever happens next?

And if you do fall asleep at any point,

Do not worry,

You may find yourself waking up at a later point,

Either in the vibrational state or perhaps in a full out-of-body experience.

After some time,

My voice will slip away,

Allowing you to immerse yourself in whatever experience you're having.

And even if you do not astral project at this time,

You will gain all the benefits of the ancient practice of yoga nidra,

Allowing your body and your mind to bathe in the medicine of deep rest.

Let's begin.

Take a few moments to get completely comfortable.

Stretch your legs out,

Let your feet flop to the sides.

Adjust your headphones if you need,

And then place your hands wherever they feel the most comfortable.

And use any props you might need to feel warm and cozy,

Completely at ease.

Make any adjustments now.

Imagine creating a little cocoon for yourself,

A sacred space of pure comfort and ease.

Where you feel safe,

Supported,

And cradled by the surface beneath you.

Now allow yourself to sink back,

Sinking back,

Allowing the support beneath you to really hold you as you nestle in,

Sinking deeper and deeper with every exhale.

Throughout this practice,

Try to remain completely still,

But if there's anything that prevents you from fully relaxing,

For example if you need to scratch,

There's no harm in moving,

But then return to stillness.

Let's begin with three big cleansing breaths.

Taking a nice big inhale through the nose,

Exhale through the mouth.

And again.

Shhhh.

With every exhale,

Allowing yourself to sink back deeper and deeper.

As you release any sense of effort,

Nothing is required if you hear.

No thinking,

No planning.

Could you allow all thoughts to dissolve as you drop into the realms of feeling,

Sensing,

And listening.

Allowing all the muscles of the face to soften,

Letting go.

Flowing from the forehead,

Through the eyes,

The jaw,

Through the shoulders,

A wave of relaxation through the whole body,

Body softening,

Letting go.

And could you release any gripping in the mind,

Allowing the mind to be open,

Relaxed.

Completely letting go.

Now could you imagine yourself zooming out so you could observe yourself from the outside,

Perhaps on the other side of the room or perhaps above you.

What does your physical body look like?

Lying here,

Completely at ease,

Resting.

Now zooming back in,

Shifting your awareness inside and gathering all your awareness at the heart space,

The center of your chest.

From this space,

Could you welcome your sankatabha or heartfelt intention,

Perhaps you're working with your own,

Or for this practice you might invite the phrase,

Now I float up,

Up and away.

Could you internally repeat your sankatabha or this phrase three times,

Now I float up.

Up.

Releasing that.

Now we'll rotate our awareness through different parts of the body,

Just allow your attention to glide from part to part as I name it,

And you might imagine imprinting that part with a little point of light like a little star,

Activating that part with energy and light.

Beginning at the crown of the head,

Placing a little point of light at the crown of your head,

The center of your forehead,

The mind's eye,

The tip of your tongue,

Both ears,

And inside both ears,

Listening,

The center of the throat,

The center of the chest,

The heart space,

Both shoulders,

Elbows,

Wrists,

The palms of the hands,

Second finger,

Third,

And little fingers.

Little points of light at all ten fingertips.

Now could you sense both hands and arms together,

Brimming with sensation and awareness,

Gathering all your awareness back at the heart space,

Flowing down to the solar plexus,

The upper abdomen,

Down to the navel center just below the belly button,

The sacrum,

Both hips,

Sensing both hips,

The soles of your feet,

The big toes,

Second toes,

Sensing both feet and legs together,

Brimming with sensation and awareness,

And the whole torso,

Both hands and arms,

And up to the crown of the head,

Full of little points of light,

Glowing,

Humming with light,

Effortless,

Amide,

Awake,

And alert.

Now could you feel the natural rhythm of your breath,

Just notice the body breathing itself in and out,

And as you sense the body breathing itself,

Could you imagine every inhale breathing in energy and light,

Every exhale glowing brighter and brighter,

Inhale filling every cell and every part of your body with light,

Exhale glowing brighter and brighter,

Feeling the whole of you saturated,

Brimming with light,

With energy,

And now could you bring all your awareness back to the soles of your feet,

And imagine you could breathe energy from the soles of your feet all the way up to the crown of your head,

As you exhale allow this energy and light to swirl around you back down to your feet,

Inhale from the soles of the feet to the crown of the head,

Exhale energy and light swirling around you back down to the feet,

Continuing like this a few more rounds.

Now let it go,

Could you invite the feeling of heaviness now through the whole body,

The body so heavy,

Sinking deeper and deeper into the support beneath you,

Lightness,

Invite the feeling of lightness through the whole body,

The body so light you could float upwards as light as a feather.

Now invite the sensation of heaviness and lightness simultaneously at the same time,

Feeling heaviness and lightness at the same time,

Now let it go,

Bringing all your awareness back to the mind's eye,

The center of the forehead,

Using all your senses,

Could you imagine yourself in a hot air balloon,

Maybe you can visualize this or sense this,

Imagining yourself drifting up,

Up and away,

Floating upwards so light,

You might imagine what this looks like,

The landscape around you becoming smaller and smaller as you float higher and higher,

Floating in this hot air balloon,

Weightless,

Drifting higher and higher,

Imagine this with all your senses.

Now could you imagine any blocks or fears as big heavy bags that you have on board,

These don't allow you to drift any higher and you're ready to release them,

Pick up a bag,

This heavy bag,

On the outside you might see what's written on the bag,

Perhaps something that represents a fear or a block,

Could you imagine,

Visualize or sense yourself throwing this bag overboard,

Letting it drop away and as you do,

Feeling yourself drift even higher,

Floating higher and higher,

Imagine picking up another bag,

Feeling the weight in your hands and again throwing it over,

Letting it drop away,

Releasing that fear or that block,

And feeling lighter and lighter,

Drifting even higher,

You might imagine the ground beneath you growing smaller and smaller,

All the buildings and trees,

The landscape so small now as you drift higher and higher,

Take a few moments now to release any more fears or blocks,

Throwing them over,

Knowing this will allow you to drift up higher and higher,

So high now you might imagine the bright blue sky becoming darker,

Deep shades of blue and indigo,

Drifting up higher and higher towards the stars,

The moon,

The cosmos above you,

Now completely free of all limits,

And remember your intention for this practice,

Perhaps your own sankalpa or perhaps now I float up,

Up and floating free,

I will leave you in this space to continue to drift higher and higher,

And know that you are safe and can return at any time simply by thinking of your physical body,

Now travel well as you continue to drift here higher and higher amongst the stars,

The moon,

The cosmos,

I will leave you here to explore in this realm where anything is possible.

I used this to fall asleep to and I had an amazing night's sleep. I feel like I was definitely traveling in my sleep, that was why I woke so energized. I suffer from nightmares and normally wake up continuously throughout the night but I slept the whole night through. Thank you!!!
