Stillness
by TJ M
This meditation is designed to help find ground in our day to day lives. It can be used to help guide you into sleep, or just deep relaxation while your are asked to connect to the ground beneath you.
Transcript
In this episode of stillness,
Release,
Relax,
Find yourself grounded.
Find your way into a comfortable seat or preferably lie down.
Once you find yourself comfortable,
See if there's something you can do to make yourself 5 to 10% more comfortable.
Move around,
Shift,
Put on a layer or a blanket or maybe even cover your eyes.
Take a big breath in and exhale,
Let it go.
Take another big breath in,
A huge breath in,
Hold it in and let it go.
Take another huge breath in,
Breathe in,
Fill up the capacity of your lungs and hold your breath in.
Even take another sip of air and as slowly as you possibly can start to exhale that breath.
As you exhale,
Let your bones and your skin be weighted.
Relax your heels and your feet.
Let your toes be heavy,
And let them turn your knees out slightly.
Release the weight of your hips into the ground.
Relax your palms,
Relax the weight of your palms.
Release your elbows and your shoulders into the ground.
Let your rib cage rest into your shoulder blades.
As you breathe in and out,
Watch yourself grow heavier.
Relax your jaw and your ears,
The outer edges of your eyes.
Even relax the space behind your eyes,
At the backs of your eyes,
Deep within your brain,
Within your skull.
And then release the weight of your brain.
Let it be heavy.
Let your bones be heavy.
Let your skin melt into the earth as if you could spread out like water.
In this heaviness,
Watch the rise and fall of your chest with your breath.
Every time we inhale,
We pull in nutrients,
Prana,
Life.
And when we exhale,
We exhale waste and things we do not need.
Every time we exhale,
We unburden ourselves.
We clear,
We release.
We innately and repeatedly practice letting go every single moment of every single day.
And so as you exhale,
As you release and let go,
Watch yourself sink into the earth beneath you.
And imagine from every part of your body that's touching the ground or the support underneath you.
Imagine roots growing from those places into the ground beneath you.
Imagine roots growing from your body into the infinite support of the earth beneath you.
Watch yourself grow closer and closer and closer to the earth,
Supported and pulled to the earth by gravity.
This unending pull,
This infinite support and trust.
As you inhale,
Watch the lightness in your breath.
And as you exhale,
Imagine sending with your exhale through those roots,
Through the pieces of your body that are touching the ground.
Imagine with your exhale,
Sending things that do not belong to you into the earth beneath you.
As if the earth beneath you was a sponge and could absorb all the things that are not yours,
That we each carry around.
Let go.
As you inhale,
Inhale the word let.
And as you exhale,
Exhale the word let.
Exhale go.
Inhale let.
Exhale go.
Start to unpack,
Release,
Let go of the things that are not yours that you have chosen to carry around.
Our job is to take care of ourselves.
If we let go of the things that are not ours,
We are more able to take care of ourselves and see the things that we need and want.
We are more able to open up and raise our faces to the sun and absorb the majesty of life.
If we can learn to let go of the things that aren't ours,
There might be space to open up to possibility,
To be unburdened,
To be motivated by our self interest and self worth.
So as you inhale,
Inhale deeply and as you exhale,
Release,
Let go,
Shed what isn't yours.
You,
You specifically are important.
Releasing other people's burdens,
Releasing the burdens of the world around you that you might be carrying around will only let you shine brighter.
You are important.
You are here for a reason.
How much easier would it be to explore that reason without carrying and packing on these things from the world around you that aren't yours.
Let them go.
Let them go so that you,
Your important self,
Your truth,
Can start to be more clear.
Let go so that you can come forward so you can share yourself with those who you choose to.
You,
Individual of your burdens,
You are important.
Release into the earth beneath you.
Let this earth,
This mother absorb comfort.
Relax into the earth.
Melt into the earth.
Give yourself permission to release.
Give yourself permission to be as you are in your truth,
Even to just catch a single glimpse of yourself,
To see yourself and breathe it in.
Breathe in this moment of letting go.

Oh woow so relaxing and truly grounding taking us me be still with whats causing discomfort and find a moment of peace and rest. I gotta add that usually listening to any kind of meditation right before going to bed keeps me somehow awake, not this one, I am so happy to say that this has become my go to this past week in which I have been feeling anxious, it eases me into sleep, works like a charm, everytime! I haven't listened the last few moments of it because it is that good. Thanks you so much TJ! ๐ค๐ค๐ค

Wonderful. Ending audio has an abruptness . Other great guided meditations Iโve seen do too. Would be nice to fade out. I do love your offering..sensitive words. Thank you.

Exactly what my heart needed to be reminded of. Thank you. I rather enjoyed the ending of the practice. It allowed me to "let go" and drift into infinity.

Has elements of yoga nidra ; however, it is more than this. Itโs really a good way to learn to let go. I am bookmarking this.

This meditation sort of put me off at first, but I stuck with it and ended in tears. Such a jewel I found in the middle. Thank you for a huge reminder that the stories of my parents and beyond are not *MY* story!! That was huge for me. Deeply grateful. ๐ธ๐พ๐โจ๐๐น๐บ๐๐๐๐๐ฝ๐ฆ๐ซ
