Sitting with Grief Hello Beloved.

Before we go anywhere,

Let us arrive together.

Begin with three slow,

Intentional breaths.

Inhale gently,

And let the exhale be long and slow.

Breathing in.

Breathing out.

Breathing in.

Breathing out.

Today we sit with grief,

Not to fix it,

Not to rush it away,

But to acknowledge its presence and honour the love that lives inside it.

Grief is not a mistake.

It is not weakness.

It is not something to overcome.

Grief is evidence that something mattered,

That someone mattered,

That a season of life was lived fully enough to leave an imprint on the heart.

Like a flower reaching the end of its cycle,

Grief reminds us that all things – dreams,

Relationships,

Careers,

Identities,

Youth,

Health,

And even entire seasons of our lives are born,

Bloom,

And eventually return to the soil.

Endings matter.

They deserve reverence.

They deserve to be witnessed.

They deserve to be held with care.

If it feels safe,

Bring your awareness into your body now.

Notice where grief lives today.

Perhaps it rests quietly in the chest,

The throat,

The belly,

Or the back of the heart.

There is no need to name it precisely.

Simply notice its shape,

Its temperature,

Its weight.

Let yourself sit beside it as you would sit beside someone you love without an agenda,

Without judgment,

Without trying to make it better or fix it.

Grief asks for presence.

It asks for listening.

It asks for permission to exist.

Your life after loss is still life.

Different,

Yes.

Tender,

Often.

But still worthy of breath.

Still worthy of care.

Holding space for grief is not a detour from healing.

It is the ritual of healing.

And over time,

Something shifts.

The pain may soften.

The sharp edges may round.

Memories may change their shape.

But love,

Love remains.

Love accompanies grief.

Love walks beside it.

Love carries what the heart cannot hold alone.

And love will continue to accompany you for as long as you live.

Take a moment now to offer yourself kindness.

You're not doing grief wrong.

You are doing grief honestly.

And that is brave.

That in itself is reverence,

Is companionship,

Is healing.

Let us take three slow breaths together.

Breathing in compassion.

Breathing out resistance.

Breathing in tenderness.

Breathing out self-judgment.

One final breath in and sigh it out.

Allowing grief to be honoured exactly as it is.

If your eyes are closed,

Open your eyes now.

You're anchor for the day.

Can I offer my grief a few moments of gentle presence without trying to fix it or change it?

Let these words softly land on your heart space.

And as you move through your day,

Know that you're allowed to grieve and still belong to life.
