Welcome,
Beloved.
For this meditation practice,
We are going to be working on the five love languages.
Words of affirmation,
Quality time,
Acts of service,
Gifts,
And touch.
Take a moment to arrive.
If you feel comfortable,
Close your eyes.
If you're seated,
Lean back.
Relax your arms.
If you're lying down,
Rest your body more comfortably.
We'll bring attention to the space around us,
To this place of practice.
The ceiling,
The floor,
The walls,
The door,
And if there are any windows.
Bring attention to the furniture,
Electronics,
Plants,
Pets,
And loved ones.
Moving our attention closer to the self,
To our clothing,
To our skin,
To our body,
From the crown of our head to the tips of our toes.
Bringing awareness within the body,
Our breath,
Where prana or life force resides.
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
I am here.
I am alive.
I am human.
I am here.
I am alive.
I am human.
I am as comfortable as I can get.
Now gently bring attention to your hands.
Taking your palms and stacking them on your heart center.
Notice the temperature of your hands,
Hand on top of hand,
On top of heart.
Bring awareness to the textures that you feel,
Your skin,
Your clothing.
Bring attention to your heartbeat,
The rhythm of your breath,
One after another.
Each breath a new beginning.
Ask yourself,
What is my love language today at this moment?
If I had a love tank or a love bank,
How would I like to fill it up?
Is it through words of affirmation?
Is it through quality time with myself?
Is it through acts of service?
Is it through gifts?
Is it through touch?
If it's touch,
Hold yourself here.
If it's gifts,
May this practice be a gift to you.
If it's acts of service,
May you enjoy a cup of tea and a good book or a movie after your practice.
If it's quality time,
Maybe shutting the world out,
Turning off your phone,
Closing the computer,
Turning off your electronics,
And creating a great meal,
A piece of art,
A letter to yourself or to a loved one,
Or simply going for a walk outdoors.
If it's words of affirmation,
Close your eyes.
Repeat after me.
May I know that I am whole.
May I know that I love who I am.
May I know that I love myself just the way I am.
May I know that I am at peace.
May I know that I am loved by my loved ones.
May I know that I am not alone.
Bring your attention to your hands,
To your heart space.
Remind yourself that you can fill up your love bank with words of affirmation,
With quality time,
With acts of service,
With gifts,
And with touch.
There doesn't need to be a partner or a person other than yourself to satisfy these needs.
Others are a bonus,
But it's the self that has the master key to our heart space.
May this practice find you filled with self-love.
Namaste.
