Welcome to this meditation.

This meditation is for you if you are feeling stuck or unsure about a job,

Relationship,

A decision,

Or about the direction of your life.

Feeling stuck in life is normal,

But it doesn't feel good.

You may have some anxiety or confusion or sadness.

This is okay.

We will work on reducing the negative feelings and be using a three-step process to move towards some relief.

Before we start,

Make sure you are comfortable and seated either on a chair,

A couch,

Or you may even prefer to do this while walking or lying in bed,

Wherever feels best for you.

The first step is to become present.

We will begin by noticing the sounds in the environment you are in.

Listen closely and see what you are able to hear.

If it's very quiet where you are,

Can you hear the sound of your own breath?

Next,

Look around you and pick out three different objects in your field of vision and silently name them.

Next,

Reach down to feel the fabric of the clothing you are wearing right now.

Notice the texture and how it feels on your body.

Next,

Notice your breath.

You don't have to change the way you are breathing.

Simply notice if your breaths are shallow or deep.

We'll move on to the next step,

Which is to become grateful.

Start to bring to mind all the people in your life that you are thankful for.

Maybe a spouse,

A family member,

A friend.

You could even include animals or pets.

Who are you grateful for?

What else are you grateful for?

It might be something essential,

Such as food and water or electricity.

Maybe you're grateful for a simple pleasure,

Like a favorite book or a cup of coffee.

See if you can think of three other things that you are grateful for.

Finally,

We'll move on to the third step,

Which is to become generous.

Bring to mind someone in your life that could use an act of kindness.

Maybe this is someone close to you,

Or maybe it's someone you just see in passing during your day.

Visualize this person.

Imagine you're smiling at them,

Or you're giving them a compliment.

After you do that,

How is this person responding?

Are they also smiling?

How might this one simple act of kindness change their day for the better?

You've now taken time to become present,

To become grateful,

And to visualize becoming generous.

I invite you to take time to perform this act of kindness sometime after this recording.

Even when we feel stuck,

We can take small steps towards taking care of ourselves and reaching out to others.

Thank you for joining me in this meditation.

Enjoy the rest of your day.
